Stereo in 2007 vs. 2008 Mazda5

Hello, and may I say I'm glad to be a part of the community.

Just test-drove an '08 Mazda5 and have concluded it's perfect for my little growing family (baby girl-and first child-due in one month). I'll be buying an '07 to use for a few months until I get transferred to Europe this summer (for 6 months) at which time I'll sell it off for a loss and pick-up a fully-loaded '08 when I get back.

I have some questions about the '07 that I'm hoping someone can answer for me.

-does it have a 6-speaker audio system like the '08?
-does it have side/side-curtain airbags like the '08?
-has anyone installed an IN-DASH aftermarket Nav system in their 5?

I live in Canada but will likely pick one up in the US due to the buying strength of the CAD south of the border. They are the same as the Canadian spec but have less standard equipment on their sport models vs. the Canadian "GS" equivalent.

I'd suggest just buying a loaded '08 and keeping it rather than taking a loss on an '07, but because you're willing to take that loss I assume your circumstances won't allow it. Anyway, welcome!

Just one quick comment:

- 2006-7 Sport has 4 speakers (the ones in by the mirrors are not available)
- 2008 Sport has 6 speakers

Oh, and there is a difference in the "volume" from 06 to 08. On my 08 the volume can easily be set to "23" or "24" with no issues, while in my 06 the same number setting makes you go deaf (Whaaat?)

For the IN-DASH nav part, not sure I think I've seen some fancy adaptations, do a search under the "5 Car Audio & Electronics" section

i think i saw someone either i this forum or on another one.. i think they put in the poineer D3 in-dash navi in it. quite nice.. but i can't remember if it's this forum or another forum that i went to
