Steering column lock not working (2019 CX-5)

When I shut off vehicle today, the steering column didn't lock in place...
no click either....
took it to local dealer, they said they can't look at it till monday....
service worker said it'll be 1 to 3 hours to troubleshoot !
he said no problem driving it like this ...

It's not the fob... checked with both fobs
it's a 2019 cx5 with 4,600 mile on it ...
original battery ...
no error codes that I could see.. everything seems to work correctly
except when shutting off cx5 and then steering wheel doesn't lock in place..

any one have this problem or read about it ... ? found one thread , but no replies
on fix....

so can anyone confirm when you shut off cx5 the steering wheel
locks into place ? with a click ?

or have I driven to many other vehicles that I'm confused and that
is not a feature on cx5.

My 2023 does not lock

2016.5 GT, the steering wheel doesn't lock either.

locked or not ... guess it doesn't ...

Hi, did you find out the problem with your steering lock not locking. I also have a 2019 cx5 and the steering lock stopped locking. It just makes 3 clicks and the start button flashes amber.

When I turn the steering wheel (which is difficult with power steering off) in my CX-5 2023 while the ignition is off, the steering wheel locks.

no, I didn't pursue it further, since several said no it doesn't lock..
but now the last 2 replies above saying it did/does lock !
I thought it locked, then one day it didn't and still doesn't ..
no error codes or clicks.. It's hard to turn when off , but I can
turn the steering wheel about 2'' left and right..when off now.
So, when I turn cx5 off now, there is no click locking on steering
wheel.

Rides straight and true still.
