Stealth Box for Hatch3?

Your other link only took me to crutchfield to see the unit. Didn't take me to full thread.

I just recently added a Pioneer Premier shallow mount sub to my GT speed3. Hooked it too a Memphis amp and it is all in a custom down firing box. The downward box would allow you to put things on top of the box without harming any of the equipment. I have my amp gain less than halfway and really adds to the bose system. Full power will over power it easily. So far I am very happy the Pioneer sub. If you would like pictures let me know.

i did my sound upgrade the easy way. had my local sound shop do it! i would like it a little smaller, but underneith all that is a 12 inch woofer and amp. very happy with it so far. sounds great, and i don't have to worry about it when my golf clubs are in the back. amp is easily accessed behind the rear passenger side seat. its being held in place with double stick velcro tape, but i only used the hook and loop side stuck to the box. holds it perfectly without having to drill 'L' brackets into the floor. let me know what you think!

I like it, defiantly a lot smaller than I have seen so far.
I would probably go for a 10inch, just to safe even more trunk space.

I felt the need for more bass and louder interior speakers, but I didnt want to take up a bunch of room, add the cheezyness of a cd player and not be able to use the steering wheel controls. IMO new speakers just add clarity, and crankablity, no bass added. I was originally planning on a Infinity bass link, or Mtx thunderlink, or something along that line, but then I would still need an amp for the interior speakers. Also there are a lot of problems with the Basslinks. So Instead I bought a 12in Eclipse sub w/box, 5 channel (4.1) Arc Audio 5150 amp, it puts out about 200rms @ 2ohms for a sub, which is great, and about 50rms @ 4ohms to the interiors. 1 amp less mess. It retails at $750, but there are other amps in that class, Theres a JL 5ch usually on ebay for around $300 shipped. When I need to haul crap (like my freestyle mountian bike) I just throw a towel over everything and its peachy. Its not super loud but Im done with that, but you can definately hear it outside of the car. I had a 3600wrms MaAudio amp and 4 Ma 12s literally shaking my eclipse apart, that was enough for me!

I DIDNT TOUCH THE HEADUNIT! I got a line out convertor and ran everything factory, lol my dealer doesent know I have a system because they never hear it. I got some kicker components for the rear speakers, I kept them together because I wasnt going to start drill holes for tweeters. I still havent decided on fronts yet because I want to just swap out the tweeters, if anyone hasnt looked, they are super small, the outside grill is just for show. Im leaning towards some Mb quarts right now.

I really wouldnt upgrade the Headunit, or interior speakers if your looking for more bass. My saying and many others saying is "if you want more bass, buy a sub"

I hoped this helped, heres a pic, also that a Allweather floor mat I cut to fit my trunk, rubber bottom, cloth top, I put the wires under that. And made a mounting bracket for the sub and amp under that aswell, If you dont bolt stuff down in these cars, they FLY around as soon as you hit the gas!

Also If your going to go with the all in one unit, dont get a Bazooka they just suck, or the kenwood, there both for trucks, Ive seen a lot of them As-Is on ebay because the amps go or the subs blow, and I heard you dont hear them at all in a normal size car, which I dont beleive personally but I would get the Mtx Thunderlink, it seemed like the best choice when I was looking at everything, their about $250 at circuit city, and then you could get the warranty so you know youll have it for atleast 4yrs.

i love not having to worry about my clubs hitting my subwoofer. now i can worry more about my clubs hitting my golf balls, and exactly how bad i'm going to slice it! and how cool are my nike shox golf shoes!

hey a buddy of mine is making these subs...he took over from me. he made a website and stuff so you can order your boxes from there. theres hatch boxes only for now but eventually when he gets a sedan to test fit hell start making those. check it out http://www.mazda3stealthbox.com

Am I missing something? It has a flash intro but the site doesn't have any photos of the box. $125 for something like that is a pretty good deal. It cost me about $75 worth of material to build my own box for a 10" sub.
