Starting Over

...oh wow, I'm kinda crushed right now..

"When we did our car, we pulled out all of the MSM parts. We installed an
FM II and used a GT3071R turbo. The engine was built with our stroker
internals as well as some good headwork. I don't think there were any
custom pieces in that car other than a 3" exhaust and some intercooler
piping. Since we've redesigned the FM II since then and they now use the
same intercooler as the MSM, the intercooler piping will work out of the
box.

We can supply the parts for a halfway conversion, using a modified FM II
downpipe to mate to the MSM exhaust and using MSM parts from the
intercooler to the throttle body. Unfortunately, most other parts will
have to go.

If you want to keep the Mazdaspeed manifold and downpipe, you'll have to
do some checking into what IHI turbos use the same flanges. You'll
definitely have to do something different with the intake, as I think
that part is unique to the MSM. We haven't looked into 350 hp turbos
that will bolt up to the MSM parts.

I would not recommend using Warren's turbo. It's massively oversized for
the power range you're considering and it wouldn't be any fun to drive
on the street."

What, you expected Warren's 450whp boosted miata to be a fun street car? ROFL, n00b.

Small displacement + large turbo + lots of boost = great drag car/dyno queen aka annoying as hell to drive around town and not versatile at all.

Last night I started to put the car back together so I can send it to John.

Dana recommended a Asian Value Pack which has helped but looks kinda funky now since I have two different types of bolts and that will annoy the hell out of me.

The injectors were a pain, as always. I ended up pulling the whole rail off (didn't do that last time).

So yea..there you have it. I'm laying low right now watching money build. I'll start moving forward in a month or so. By then I'll have a lot saved up and I'll start splurging.

How many more times am I going to watch this? You guys can stop linking me to it now, I saw it like 2 years ago. >.<

Basically it's a bolt kit that fits most Japan-made vehicles. I've used about 3 so far. I was actually not pleased with the options I got in the kit, they are bulls*** bolts and I'm not in a bulls*** area.

Thats what I kinda figured. Where did you pick it up at? Autozone?
