The Octane switch isn't a new idea. The 1988 T-Bird Turbo Coupe had a switch that said, "Premium" and "Regular." On regular fuel (below 91 octane) the car only goes to 9 PSI. On premium, it will go all the way up to 15 PSI. That damn car had so many damn features that made it ahead of it's time. That's why it was $17,000 for that boosted four-cylinder in 1988.
