The Octane switch isn't a new idea. The 1988 T-Bird Turbo Coupe had a switch that said, "Premium" and "Regular." On regular fuel (below 91 octane) the car only goes to 9 PSI. On premium, it will go all the way up to 15 PSI. That damn car had so many damn features that made it ahead of it's time. That's why it was $17,000 for that boosted four-cylinder in 1988.

mazda is starting to put the MazdaSpeed label on a lot of cars now. miata, mazda6, mazda3 and rx8 maybe. most manufacturers are starting to do more for the sport compact cars in house.

no matter how fast a neon SRT is out of the box or can be made...i cannot look past a car that is that fast, yet so affordable. quality had to be skimped on somewhere (usually it was the dodge trannies), and only a little time will tell before we see what quality issue the SRT will have. neons have always had reliability issues.

1338: im in the honda crew because i own an s2000, however i cant stand other hondas like the civic or integra. or maybe it is just the young punk ricers who own them RWD rules...

um yea ok... the MSP is just a protege with turbo then SRT-4 is a neon with BUILT motor and a turbo. i want a SRT-4 cuz it seams like all the mazda people talk s*** about EVERY outher car execpt there p5 or MSP or mp3 or rx. the mazda crew is starting to remind me why i left the honda crew. too much s*** talking and not enuff apreastion for outher cars.

Ummm you think Msprotege.com is bad...you obviously never been on SRTforums. Mention any other car then a viper or SRT-4 and most go crazy...especially the word "WRX"

Yeah the SRT-4 is a well built car...no need to talk down about it. interior and exterior may not be nice. But the engine is beautiful

I also think no FWD car is worth above $20K. Thats why I dont like honda...except for there cars thats not FWD...S2000, NSX, MDX and etc.

Yeah I know about high octane gas...but im wondering if there like a seperate tank so you can switch between diffrent octane ratings. Or is it just a switch to add octane booster to the gas tanks, which is lame (IMO)....I'm confused. Or maybe im a idiot.

Octane booster don't do s***..maybe raises it up .5 octane..

Race gass..Is 100 or 104 octane!

So none of you riceboys..go out and buy..some octane booster and think you can bump up the boost to 20psi..and get away w/ it!

what does help octane is paint thinner, haha, T-9 Xylol baby.

YOu got it..add 1 gallon to a full tank of 93..and you can get..around 100 octane!
