SR20DET vs FSDET

ya i think a n/a fs protege could beat a g20. My coworker has a newer G20 and I have driven it many times, no way that car is pulling a protege unless the mazda driver is s***. They have a very similar power to weight ratio, it would come down to driver every time with all other things the same.

A speed walks a stock G20 every time obviously. The G20 is a nice cruiser though. Leather, sunroof and nice to drive. You feel fancy even though you are in a sentra really.

The G20 may look like a gussified Sentra, but it's a Primera underneath. Which accounts for the extra weight.

I've had two cars with SR20s and two with FSDEs. Hands down, I like the SR20 more... but overall, I really prefer my Proty to a Sentra.

There are some B13 SE-R's with turbos and stock SR20DE bottom ends that burn EVO's and STI's with only like 10psi. The car is light and can rev to 7800. If a G20 and SE-R raced, the SE-R would win by 1/2 car to a car since its like 200 lbs lighter. With bolt ons, the car makes nice power and response nicely.

thats because the bluebird engines allready come stock with larger versions of the s14 bb t28. with boltons and the boost raised i see no problem with a se-r that has a bluebird motor stomPing some evo's and sti's from rolls.

ok... i have a question. I currently have a 1995 mazda protege. w/ a stock 1.5L. I was going to buy a new Type-S RSX... after selling my Mazda... but then i hit a deer and while finding replacement parts to fix the damage i stumpled across numerous resources of imformation... and it seem ive become attatched. The car has a lil potential to be a deadly Sleeper. My question is what engine can fit into the 95 besides the 1.8L. I wanted to find out more about the Supercharged Mazda millenia engine or the 03 mazda 3 engine... which i believe is the FSDET that u all speak of...it comes stock 210? and i want to break the 250hp range and dare to attempt and reach 300hp if possible. any suggestions?

there are some 2nd gen's with 1st gen 1.8 bp-t motors in there

Yay ... lots of love for the SR20 :D

I had two NX2000's, one with a GTI-R swap. God I miss those engines. The FS-DE is so ... dead.

With that being said, I really love my P5. I only wish its engine would be like a SR20. I even contemplated selling my P5 for a P11, but that didnt happen for various reasons.

Maybe one day ill swap a SR20VE in the P5 as a little side project ... ahh day-dreaming :D

Cool thread !

I signed up just to answer TXRXS'S question (for starters)
the main reason why any stock SR20 is more rev-happy than any stock FS would be the shorter stroke..
