My rear end clunk sound came back recently. The dealer fixed it once already, I would like to pinpoint what exactly is causing the sound so I can fix it myself rather than taking it to the dealer.
sometimes its not the endlinks but the bushing brackets that needs to be retighten. I had a loud clunking when backing out of driveways and i found out that one end of the bushings was not as tight. Once weight was transfered through the car, the bar basically was pushed aways from the frame and once the weight transfered back, it would hit against the frame making the metallic clunk.
Every so often you will probably have to retighten the rear bar bushing and endlinks. To me it seems the more harder driving i do, the sooner it comeback, usually after a few months. I just remove the whole bar and retighten again. Service manual says about 45lbs of torque, but it seems that it needs more, but im scared to over torque lol.
