My 2002 PR5 has the a squealing belt. Not matter what I do, It seems I can't fix it! The belt is less than a year old. I tried to tighten the belt with no luck.
It seems to happen every time the A/C cycles...bad compressor clutch?
Any ideas guys? It's really annoying!

If it has been squealing for a while the belt may be glazed and no matter what you do you won't be able to fix it. I would suggest replacing the belt and tensioning it properly. Mine does the same thing, once I'm back on the road with it I am going to swap out the belt and see if that fixes the problem. Also reading through many posts on the issue I have found that the type of belt makes a big difference.

My car is sensitive to belt squeal since it has aluminum crank UDP & aluminum wp,alt & ps pulleys as well. Gates Micro-V are the best I've found as far as staying quiet with proper tightening. Never heard a peep out of them even being a bit loose when all pulleys were oem steel. Only difference was length is shorter with UDP now. Never could get teh gatorbacks to shut up with aluminum pulleys, maybe OK with steel.
