Stock exhaust set-up here. I tried to solve the squeaking yesterday morning, but it came back after 10 minutes on the highway...but then seemed to disappear once back to city driving. I started saturday by kicking the exhaust tip a few times to see if something would squeak, lol! (On my old RSX-S I had an Apex-i exhaust with hangers that clunked against the car's underbody and was hoping this was something similar, but no luck.) I checked out the front sway bar nuts, but they seemed to be snug. Someone mentioned heat sheilds so checked the ones around the cat and turbo, but they seemed snug. There actually was some insulation between the turbo and firewall which seems to be fastened by some plastic hex nuts I finger tightened, but I doubt that was the culprit. I thought maybe it was the power steering fluid reservoir rocking around over bumps and during shut-off, so I removed the fasteners and greased everything up there. However, the squeek came back. My passenger said it was coming from the center console. After she told me that, I recalled reading a post somewhere that the unconnected wire harness for the navigation on cars not equipped with that option from the factory were rattling inside the dash. I'm not in a hurry to tear my dash apart though, so I'll let this go a few days and see if this squeaking settles itself during the week.
All of you having the bird/mice/cricket squeaks over bumps or vibration: on top of what exahust set-up you have, are your cars equipped with the factory navigation system? Also what are the outdoor temps when you experience the noise? We'll pinpoint this eventually...
