Squeak Squeak?

whenever i make turns my car seems to squeal... just wondering if this is normal or not and/or could it be the breaks?

Power steering belt worn/loose? Especially if it happens when the car is stationary.
If it's when the car is in motion, unlikely to be brakes if it just happens when you are turning. More likely something related to the steering/suspension components.

ghetto bubba.. more details..pls

i ran into a squeaking prob today aswell...

kinda sounds like normal brake squeak (to me it sounds like the squeel of boiling water in an old school kettle)... but only happens every now and then...

the "continuous" squeak doesn't get any louder when braking... and seems to dissappear @ higher speeds (over 40km) or when rpm's over 3k

the sound seems to be @ it's loudest when cruising to a stop under engine brake between 2-1.5k rpm... and doesn't disappear even when cruising in neutral to a stop...

had a very experienced mechanic friend test drive the car with me... did multiple test like swerving / turning/ pulled ebrake... but could not determine the source other then coming from the front...

he's guessing the brakes.. i'm hoping the brakes.. but he also said it may be one of the front wheel bearings (wow) EEEEE... scary!!! i'm going to get the brakes changed... he said if the problem persists.. he would throw it up on his lift and check it further...

anyone seen something like this before???

any help would be greatly appreciated..thx

no fat chix with me btw but i notice it alot more during slow turns yes. but not necessarily while breaking.... on the right front rotor i noticed 2 small lines around it where the pad would be.... could there be something in between the rotor and the pad?

yeah my mp5 is doing the exact same squeaking sounds its annoying as hell but when i brake it stops , and like another guy said it goes away at a certain speed so im going to try to take it up to hiley mazda and have them do my 35,000 mile check up or whatever it is and perhaps they'll hear it or something.

wear indicators maybe? Those will tear into your rotors... How much pad u have left?

Yup, definitely sounds like wear indicators are gouging your rotor. That happened to me before I realized I was supposed to rip off 2 superfluous indicators on my aftermarket pads before installing them. I doubt it's anything serious, but definitely check the installation of the pad on that squeaky side, either it was installed wrong or it just needs replacing. Or you've got a lot of brake dust buildup. Or I'm completely wrong. :)

should i just buy new rotors/pads?

Well, check the pads first, but if u've got grooves in the rotors, you should be able to just get them resurfaced...

Yeah I agree, I've got grooves in my rotors, unless they're really deep (2 mm+?????) I wouldn't worry about it. Only get new pads if they're legitimately worn-down (installed properly, but no pad left). Hopefully the clips holding the pad are just in wrong or one clip fell out or something.
