We can now see the new CR-V's clear resemblance to both the new Civic - it shares the same underpinnings - and its sister model, the Acura RDX. CR-Vs for sale in North America will be built on the same production lines as the RDX in Marysville, Ohio, though European-market cars will be made in Swindon. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

The North American CR-V is thought to have a 170bhp 2.4-litre petrol engine, though the Euro cars will probably stick with updated versions of the smaller 2.0 and 2.2, as well as the diesel. At a later date, hybrid petrol-electric models are a likely prospect as well in both markets. Expect differences in suspension tuning, specification and interior design as well, though both versions will remain five-seaters. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=440 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD>

This gives automatic torque distribution between the left and right wheels as well as between the front and rear axles, and is biased more towards sporty on-road handling than intrepid off-roading.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=440 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD>

We'll find out more later this year, though European production and sales are not expected till spring 2007. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

wow...looks very modern and futuristic. honda's styling is always fresh and forward. what's with that strange bulge on the back though ? the line across the sides of the car caught my eye

I agree. Much more upscale with the overall lines and layout. Glad to see they moved the spare tire from the back. It almost appears that the rear gate lifts up and a small bottom flap comes down, no?

Weird lines over the hatch, looks like a big fat frumpy ass. The front looks nice tho.

Just when I thought they couldnt make them any uglier....dont hate me, I own one of the ugliest ones, a 99.

Cool, I'll have to keep an eye out for the demos. I drive through downtown Vancouver a lot...

I'm still undecided on this new style, and that rear bulge does look odd.

man, I used to be a huge Honda guy. Now their designers need to be SHOT. What is up with the headlights, grill, and bulge on the tail???

strange.
