Needless to say fans of the Nissan Sentra have been less than enthusiastic about the styling of the next-generation model due out later this year. Maybe these latest spy photos of the 2008 Nissan Sentra SE-R will cheer them up a little. Even with the taped up front and rear ends it's clear the SE-R will get typical high-performance mods like a deeper front air dam, rear deck spoiler and extended sills. Bigger wheels and tires add some muscle to its stance, and just in case you're still in doubt about the authenticity of this prototype we added a close up of one of the heavy-duty brake calipers and its "SE-R" lettering.

I'm not even going to post a comment. You all know how I feel about Nissans.

I thought my '93 SE-R was awesome looking. If only I'd not been in school then... I'd have put on some proper tires and suspension. The follow-ups..... bleh.

Is it me or are there a lot of new cars lately with the rear end of the 3? Everytime I see MikeyB post a new sedan the back end looks like that of a 3. Nobody else wants to be creative anymore?

I don't like it at all looks to boxy for me, but to each his own.

I like nissans overall. I used to be a sales weasel at a Nissan Dealership.

350Z's, Altima SE-Rs, last gen maxima are all among some of my fave cars, but GOOD GRIEF THE SENTRA IS UGLY! Last gen was ugly and I figured they could only get better......nope!!! Even uglier. Why not just call it was it is: The Nissan "BOX ON WHEELS" SE-R.

NO THANKS!

...ohh boy and the S-ER gets bigger and more pig like...see this is where every single auto manufacturer has gone wrong they have taken a great platform and made it suck...Example: VW GTI great concept when it came out very lightweight with just enough power to make it a small pocket rocket....now they are pigs with a side of bovine with weight that barely allows them to be propelled into the high 14's. thats what made the b13 sentra so great it was lightweight, quick, awesome engine, and handled very well now its big, heavy, crappy engine that like alot of other manufacturers they just threw displacment and a variable valve timing system at which bumps HP up to mediocre at best

why not take your design and Run with it.......What's with the boxy looking sedans?

Return Nissan to the past year 2000 to be exact, Best looking Nissans ever

Rear looks like a saturn to me...

Looks like a baby Maxima...Bulky and clumpy...I agree with you guys...They need to scratch this current design theme and start with something a lot cleaner and leaner...

Isn't this based on a Renault(sp?) platform? I wonder what engine it'll use? Sure is ugly. They sure went downhill from the original B13 sentra.

Ok I have to comment. I hate the design direction Nissan is going with their cars. I actually like the Versa which is sold in Europe as the Almera. I think Renualt designers are styling these US market cars. I like the B15 SE-R that I use to own and I like the Altima now. The new Sentra and Maxima are just gross. Will this design theme effect GM when they merge?
