Sputtering + CEL = :(

So, not sure whats going on with it, but I was driving along (normal speed, no aggresive driving) and then the car started sputtering, then the check engine light started blinking. I pulled over and shut if off, popped the hood and was snooping around. Everything looks fine but there is definetly something wrong. Checked oil too, and its fine. Could use a change, but the main thing I was looking for is volume. Anyway, it sounds like I have a bad misfire. I can barely take it to 40 mph, its horrible. I am waking up early tomorrow and taking it in. Wish me luck.

do you have anything to read the cel with?
a dashhawk perhaps?
is sputtering one of the symptoms of misfires?
does the cel stay on?
does the car feel different?
what mods?

You need to tell us the codes for the CEL. Plug in an OBD-II scanner.

But judging by your symptoms, your car is likely in limp mode. Chances are it's your MAF.

Certainly knowing the CEL is necessary...in the meantime, check to see that you hoses from turbo to IC to intake haven't loosened or that one of the vacuum hoses off the intake is off.

I took it to auto zone last night and their scanner wouldn't read the CEL, don't know what thats all about. Mods are BoV, Race Pipe, and CAI. Yes, the car feels very different and the cel stays on

Well anyway got the car back, ended up complaining to Mazda themselves about the poor service and I got 100 bucks off the bill. They did an oil change for free then later (earlier tonight) I started my car and it had alotta smoke coming out the exhaust... I think they over filled my cars oil. Fuckers.
