Hey guys, I am thinking of getting eibach prokit, or progress group lowering springs. And I have heard many people say it kills alot of wheel hop, and their are some that say it did very little or nothing at all. I know motor mounts will kill alot of it, but not sure if i want to get those. Any info would be great, i tried to search but it was pissin me off.
Thanks
Kris

Well think about it like this...

With stiffer springs your car is less likely to "jump". Meaning the point when you mash the gash and the front of the car jumps a little higher as the rear of the car sets down. With stiffer springs it wont do that as much creating less oppurtunities for wheel hop. Thats why drag cars with massive amounts of power have wheely bars in the back ;)

try just the front AWR mount its a 5 minute install and kill the wheel hop....i have it in and i think it might be the best $70 i spent on my car. it just feels 100x more solid then it did before...
www.protege5online.com sells it.

Kris,
It's possible that springs will help our cars for wheel hop... Like if springs are progressive they will help out a little bit more then our stock linear springs. But then again it depends on the shock... how much low speed control is in the shocks and how much pressure is in the tires. Is this for track use?

not for track use, i will probably do drag track once or twice this year. I would like to start autocross, but whenever i punch it, im getting sick of the sick wheel hop, it even happens when scratching second some time... its killer.

if its just a bother, go for the front AWR mount, the rear adds a lot of vibration which is annoying for common street driving

yea the AWR's are awesome from what i hear. Im gonna order the front one this weekend ;)

i love you

Yup, try the motor mount first. I'm about to order mine.

As for the springs, the stock ones are a little soft in the back (117 lbs/in) and that can't be helping with weight transfer and subsequent hop.

Umm....I looked on that page, and couldn't find the word "mount" anywhere. Is it under AWR Suspension? I looked in there and didn't see them? Could you point a fellow "hopper" who's fed up in the right direction? Thanks!
