Alrighty all you senior p5ers, i am going to be installing loweing springs soon (dropzone) and i need to know if the stock shocks are ok to keep on. also, will there be any camber or alignment issues? appreciate any help. and how bout some rep points people? (p5red) (five-0)

I would say that if the springs are not more than say about 30% [that's just a guess] stiffer than OEM, and the drop is as little as possible, then the OEM shocks might be fine.
And rep points are usually awarded for contributions. At least I hope so.

your gonna need new struts ..i tried it running the stock struts after i lowered it against the advice of others..there was imediate clunking so i had to buy the tokico blues...pretty much the same struts that come on the msp...sucked cause i had to do twice the work...u can prob get away with the stock stuts if ur lowering it less than an inch..anything more i would suggest gettin the new struts

I lowered mine 1.3 front & rear, cut the bump stops about that much & have been riding on the stock struts for about 4 months or so with no apparent problems - yet. Ride is barely different than it was shockwise. No annoying bashing on bumps any of the time. Will go with illuminas at 1st sign of leaking or clunking. Did get 4 wheel alignment about 7-10 days afterward to allow springs to settle. Got 205/40/17s right before lowering. They didn't get chewed up any before alignment. Alignment wasn't off bad but it wasn't spot on either. Even got 6 month warranty on the alignment. Will be going back to check it again towards the end of warranty because it's free..........

MP3 springs do not require a camber kit.
They worked very, very well with the OEM shocks when I had that combo.
It will appear that the rear end is lower than the front though, but performance hasn't been hurt [I've done close to 20 track days with that combo].

There needs to be a sticky in the forum about lowering. IMO with any lowering spring you are going to need new struts... and YES you DONT need a camber kit for anything less than a 2 inch drop. I had a 2 in drop with progress springs and I did the alignment myself and was easily within specs.
