Sport Exhaust??

I would like to know where i can get the exhaust Sly got on his car. Not the mp3 exhaust, the "sport Exhaust" the one that lines up with the bumper.

Sport Exhaust

I to orderd my exhaust from Mazdastuff and it is the one Sly got if you zoom in on one of the picture that SLY posted you'll see the mazdaspeed logo on it. It looks great and sounds great until you get on it at around 65+ mph.

what happens after 65 mph? is it to loud? Can it be drowned out by the stereo. also, is it easy to install / uninstall?

I got my exhaust from my dealer and unfortunately, I don't have the invoice with the part number. I'm glad some of you guys have the same one so I know it's right this time!

But like I said, the loudness of this exhaust is killing me. I drive about 1.5 hours each day on the highway and the constant humming and buzzing is too much. I liked the MP3 exhaust I had before a lot better! If only that thing was shorter... So I went back to the dealer today and they said they tossed out my original exhaust. I asked why and they said they had to cut it in order to put the new one in? Who knows if that's just BS. If I want a new stock exhaust, it'll cost me $200! Since when is a stock exhaust more expensive than a sports exhaust? Or, they can put the MP3 one back in.

Anyone have a stock exhaust lying around?

whats the product number for the "sport Exhaust" for the P5? Just wondering, i want to make sure i get the right exhaust from mazdastuff.com

the sports muffler will not change any kind of horsepower readings like the bosal does because the bosal is supposedly a whole catback system. The only thing the sports muffler will do is change the tone of your muffler sound, ie the name - muffler.

reminder: catback exhaust is the whole exhaust piping from the catalytic converter to the end of the exhaust (muffler)

Under our car the exhaust system contain the following:

headers -> catalytic -> pre-muffler -> 'S' pipe -> muffler

catback is pre-muffler to muffler.
sport exhaust is just the muffler section.

I saw a pic that someone had on a thread and it looked like it replaced everything from the headers back. Am I stupid b/c it looked like everything to me. But if that is the fact will the Bosal Cat Back Exhaust void my warnety?? This is CRAZY if the pipe that you can buy from the dealer doesnt give me any more hp, then why would i want it?

Looks and sound...

Well, it all depends on what a person wants out of their car. For $200 for a Stainless Steel rear section (the Sport Exhaust), that's a good deal for looks and a throatier sound. It's good for someone that is just looking for that, nothing else. No, it won't give more performance because you still have the very restrictive stock exhaust piping from header back. The Bosal should give some performance gain due to it's larger diameter piping. You pay more for it cause it's a cat-back system.

Remember, if the exhaust system is called a Cat-back system, it's from the back of the Catalytic Converter (2nd one), to the muffler. That's mid-pipe and S-pipe and muffler.

The Sport Exhaust is a rear-section. S-pipe and Muffler only.

Well, i tried to buy the sport exhaust today and i was told that it was on backorder and they dont expect a shipment in for a while.

this was at mazdastuff.com by the way.

I tried to get the racing beat exhaust and they sold out and now i cant even get the sport exhaust, this sucks.

Okay i am stupid offically. I want the loudness of the Sport Exhaust! I want something loud like that. BUT I want the pipes From the CAT back that comes on the Bosal Cat Back exhaust (from the cat back but w/o the muffler) is there anyway to do that? oh, s***! just found out that our sport exhaust is MADE IN AFRICA! No joke man. i don't believe it myself. I called to 3 dealer today, and ask if the Sport exhaust is made my Mazdaspeed,but no body know what i'm talking about. they just said it's made by Mazda. But then why there's Mazdaspeed logo on it? How many kind of sport exhaust are mazda selling?

sorry guys, but i just find out from a dealer that the "sport exhaust" for the P5 is not only on backorder but on National Backorder, so it is going to be nearly impossible to find one. If you do you better buy it.

It has been on National Backorder since March and they do not know when any shipments will come again.
