hey guys plz quick help.. my boost takes for ever to build.. i hit full boost at 4200rpm :( . and it goes to 3 or 2 pounds after it hits 7.. my turbo manifold cracks and i fix it. but i also put a new forge WGA. and i still have stock oem bpv . anyone?? do i need a BOV to hold the boost?? y is it not holding it??

Maybe a boost leak but you would be having some bucking and hesitation problems, which you have not said anything about. It is possible the stock bpv is crap, they aren't very strong and are made of plastic. So do you have any hesitation problems? Does the car buck or hit fuel cut? Do you have any CEL? Start checking all vacuum lines. Do you have a wideband o2? Doesn't sound like a wga problem because you would be over boosting, not under boosting. Give us some more info and we should be able to help you out alittle more. Good luck

Im having a similar issue. My car has an AEM CAI, Turbohoses aluminum intercooler pipes, 626 intake manifold, 3" catless downpipe, upgraded SMIC. Vacuum is -22 at idle, AFR's are 10.0 to 11.0 running 8psi on an Apex AVC-R. no hesitation, bucking, jerking, etc.

I do not build full boost until at LEAST 4200rpm. This is mainly noticable in 3rd and 4th gears when i am between 3300 and 4000rpm and go WOT. The boost instantaneously hits 0psi, but builds very slow to full boost (8-9lbs) then trickles off to 6-7lbs after 5500rpm.

If i am above 4200rpm and go WOT i get a 1-2psi spike almost instantly then it trickles down to the 6-7psi range. This is verifyable with the AVCR boost gauge and my AEM electronic boost guage. With the AVCR off, i get the same situation, but boost falls to 5lbs.

No noticable cracks in the exhaust manifold, car runs great other then not building boost before 4200rpm. Only thing i have not replaced on the intake side is the bypass valve. I have the forge replacement, but have not installed it yet. Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Jeffrey

+1 to you for this awesome tip. Got home and got a mirror out and a flashlight and was able to confirm EXACTLY the same thing had happened to my wastegate arm. It looks exactly like the picture you submitted on the thread you linked. Now to see if i can push it back in from underneith without removing the turbo.

Thanks again!
