spoolinmp3 - If you guys feel that clarifying data to allow for an "apple to apple" comparison is undermining, then we truely appologize. No hard feelings
I dont think the point that people have been making is that you came in our thread and started to ask us many questions that seems odd.
I am not trying to flame but generally in regards with other sponsors such as High Boost, Flying Protege, Perfworks ect we kinda respect each others space and do not post in each others threads. It may happen sometimes but its not a continuing prodding of posts. I am in no way offeneded and sincerely accept your appology
Its just that it may be taken by several forum members as a bit hostile when an another manufacturers post count is higher in a thread then the actual thread starter. We have been posting dynos on this board since it basically opened up its doors 2 years ago and no one really questioned us as many times as you did about dyno's ect, especially other vendors and we extended the same courtesy. I dont think I have ever posted or commented on any of your threads. I dont think its my place. If I want to say something or sell something I just do it on my own
In regards to Dyno numbers we posted peak numbers of all runs......thats the way it has always been done and we will continue to do this much like most aftermarket companies. We are here to sell a product. We are not lying or fluffing things up. The car made the numbers and we post the best ones we made. We ran a bunch of runs back to back and we had pretty good consitency. All of the 10psi runs were in the high 190whp range.
Another very very important aspect is that dynos are not king in the land of performance. I never tune a car on a dyno.....its hog wash. The load, aerodynamic ect conditions are totally different and dynos are done at WOT. We tune a street car put it on the dyno.....then tune for higher numbers.....then put it back on the street and the car runs horrible. So it never made much sense for me to tune a car on the dyno and I dont live or die by them. Another thing Dyno's are inconsistent from one to another.....many many factors are involved and dont base your opinion on a product from its dyno numbers. Now that I have said that and its out of the way I would like to continue the thread
As you can see from our charts there were significant dips in the power band because of the overly rich fuel maps on the MSP. We are trying to come out with an accurate form to control fuel maps through out the rpm range enabling some real acceptable A/F's
SO WE CAN SEE THE GOOD JOB
Thanks Perf
Spool, What happened to the picture of the guy doing a speech? That was by far the best pic out there. Can you please post pics up again.. Sorry, I'm to lazy to search for it! Great Products!
That shmuck is me at our open house
I dont have the pic.....I can try digging it up
SO, without the tuning ability of engine management or fuel controller, would you say it would be safe to boost to 9 psi without having to worry about anything.
You can safely run 12psi without any audible ping HOWEVER there is no documentation or long term testing at these levels so only time will tell how our motors handle 12psi for the long haul
Spool-When I go to Richmond to visit my mom next time I will be sure to visit your shop to check out the operation first hand to possibly throw some business your way and some HP in my direction
Looking foward to meet ya
Chris has possessed my mind and shortly I will be purchasing a nice little SR to play with
How do you think the ECU fix will affect the CAI and FMIC add on, especially with the upped boost, that you just tested?
Really unsure since we do not know really know much mazda will lean out the fuel maps. I have a hunch that they will not get to crazy and keep it pig rich. If so we can still run 10psi with no probs I would imagine
also, whats the difference between these msp and our turboed pro5/mp3?? i mean...you guys are getting high 250/260hp with only 13psi on the other cars...is it just the fact that its the microtech or the bigger turbo?? just wondering
The MSP's turbo is really undersized for the application. We are running bigger turbos and better maps thats why we are making the big #'s.
OH. SPOOL GUYS. Awesome. Keep up the good work. Hopefully after we move I can be more social and actually call up you guys again to see how things are going.
Cool call us
