Speeding, is it safe?

asianhottie said:

As for my little speeding adventure on Cooper street, that was wrong. I was just trying to prove that my 6 cylinder 205 horsepower SUV could whoop an MP3 from a stoplight but after 500 feet, the MP3 would catch up. All I was trying to tell somebody was that I have more starting power.

You are such a hypocryte... Speeding is bad but I am alowed to do it to teach someone a lesson... hhhmmmm double standards... I think so... My words to you are

GET A LIFE

You have nothing better then trying to get a web forum to support your non sense and go against our fellow friend. Go to www.psychopaths.com or www.iamstillnotovermyex.com or www.learntomindyourowndamnbusiness.com

As for insurance rates and s***. I have about equal girls and guys as friends... more girls have got into accidents then the guys... dont' do this generalized BS.. it goes both ways...

You need your head seriously checked. What do you think people in here will say... Yes speeding is fun and street racing is the best. Of course people will BS about the truth. I can be a hypocrite like you and talk bad about street racing but then I am not two faced... I do speed off red lights just to show to people that mazda is not as slow as they think and I have gone 120 mph just to see... so I can't bad mouth anyone that has tried this.

Speeding kills blah blah...

#1 killer in cars is DUI
#2 is cell phones...

Yes speeding is bad but I think talking on the phone is a little worst and I can guarantee you since you are a girl your phone is used so often when driving.

GET off this freaking board trying to stir s*** up and have somewhat secret message sent to someone in specific. Get the clue talk to him rather then trying to talk to all of us about your mental issues.

I may be mistaken, but I believe that NJ has higher insurance rates than texas (and i think higher than the whole country)... I'm 20, drive an mp3, 3 accidents in the past 8 months (noone cares that none were my fault).... i don't even like talking about it

No,

I took you from the stoplight, and STAYED IN FRONT! It was only about 500-1000 ft, but I drove my car better that day than ever!

yes thats true, but the cost of living in NJ and most of the other eastern coastal states have higher costs of living, and trust me if people know you earn a good amount of money they are gonna try to squeeze as much as possible out of you. in texas a home may be rented for $200-$400 but in a coastal state its $400+ for an apartment. unfortunately her generalization is a fact. if you go to an insurange agent here in houston and ask for quotes they even tell you if you are a male under 25 the cost is off the charts. trust me, me and my twin brother have been there.

PS
where are ya getting these facts about car accidents? im just curious.

Manuel, I'm not arguing that males under 25 has ridiculous car insurance rates in texas, jersey, and everywhere else in the country.... I', living that nightmare as I'm sure all the males on this board are or have at one point.

Those number about the accidents are from my personal experience working as an EMT. It's not something published, just something I've seen in my tenure....

These are Canadian car facts that the OPP have published here in Ontario. OPP is our provincial police. Ontario Provincial Police my brother is studying to be a cop and one his project was about the impact cell phones have on road safety... it was ranked as the #2 cause for accidents in Ontario... #1 in other places I forget which one though.

I am not saying that the facts are wrong, I am just saying that percentage wise more guys drive then women do.. so of course their will be more accidents but in reality how many guys crash in percentage to the women. First thing any wife or GF will do in my experience has been. when it's bad weather, night or stormy they ask for the guys to drive so right there we are a higher risk but only cause we drive in more hazardous conditions. So in reality we will crash more cause we drive on snow ice and rain while the girls chill out in the passenger seat.

MANUAL...you are all too aware of the insurance rates I am sure...seeing as how you live in Harris county...which btw has some of the highest insurance rates in the entire country.....I do NOT regret NOT living in that county at all!

Uh, huh...RIIIIIIIGHT...

Sheesh!

Guys and gals: Even though this thread is spawning some interesting banter, I caution everyone to stress civility at all costs. There is an agenda going on here as we all know.

I, for one, wish to shy away from any "I'm not naming any names" kind of talk. From my point of view, supporting this without maintaining decorum will only degrade to increasing the liklihood that "the unnamed one" will want to leave our fine board.

I'll go out on a limb by saying that I believe A.H. wants that very thing. Linux, please don't perpetuate this feud she wants you to participate in. You don't have to defend yourself - you're among friends. If you let her pull you into this, it will only be negative for you.

Just my opinion, yes, but I feel I had to voice it. I'm weary of A.H.'s immature behavior. If she really has turned over a new leaf, why can't she join an SUV board (or, even better, a board for "Concerned Moms") where no one knows Linux. She could diss "young, irresponsible" "nonames" and have all kinds of people cheer her on. She could even diss a "particular" person and get enormous satisfaction from sympathetic ears.

But she does not do this. It doesn't take an Einstein to figure out why not. She is insulting our intelligence and perpetuating her anger-driven vindetta against a forum member. This is wrong.

ok...i know i'm gonna get majorly flamed for this...but...

it has occurred to me today that girls seem to be more easily distracted the guys when driving...

today this girl in her brand new mercedes hatch that daddy probably bought swung across 4 lanes of traffic to turn left...and of course she was on the phone...

maybe it's not girls its the phones...but who knows...

oh by the way...i have my flame retardant suit on...so do your worst

what gives you the impression her "daddy bought" the car? i guess if i was on the farthest right lane on a 5 lane highway and needed to turn left, id also move over 4 lanes to turn left...wouldnt you?

Manuel,
I am from Houston.

For Syz, I like being on here now not to fight with Linux anymore but to get some input on real life stuff life insurance and speeding. Some of the guys on here got good stuff. So I guess I don't have to red your harsh words anymore and think you are, well, whatever.

Insurance companies charge more for people who live in the city than those who live in the suburbs. They also give you a break if you have kids and are married.

Aint it a big freaking b**** to know you are a careful driver, didn't cause the accident but your rates go up? There should be a law change on that.

Also I admit I was wrong for racing that certain person. Therefore I am not a hypocrit.

Also, he is not my ex he is still around.

For the ignorant, selfish individual who say street racing is cool, I hope your car combusts from the accident you will soon have or in the nearer future for your actions. Not to also mention the lives of others you will affect.

my first impression was the fact that she looked like she was in high school or young college...and i don't know too many college students that can afford a mercedes...

and actually we were on the street...well...yes i would move over 4 lanes but...she made it in 1 swift move and within 30ft...i think it was a record...i've never seen anybody cut of 4 cars at once...

Ok, I have to stick up for her here. I drove a 5 series BMW while I was in college, and I did pay for it myself. I also had a very young look abou tme, and could have easily passed for 17 at age 22. I worked 3 jobs and over 80 hours a week during the summers.
BUT, I do not condone the crossing 4 lanes to make a turn. That's just stupid. If you miss a turn, go on to the next and come back. If you're in a hurry, it means you are to blame and should have left earlier. Don't punish everyone else on the road for your lack of self discipline.

You come on here.... blabbing away on how speeding is bad.... yet you do it yourself.... like seriously.. that is the definition of a hypocrite... not only speeding but racing... just cause you admit it was wrong.... that dont' mean you got the right to preach otherwise. speeding is speeding, you go 5 mph faster... then you are still speeding.. regardless... you are endagering someones life cause you are going 5 mph and who are you to judge what is a safe speeding speed anyways? It's a law... it's pretty easy follow it.....

Practice what you preach.... don't preach what you don't practice.

As for you wishing bad luck onto someone else cause they do not agree with you, that is truly selfish b**** material right there. I have no respect for you what so ever, unlike you I do not wish that you get hit nor die from anything, as you are a human being and since you are here we might as well live with it... Wishing someone bad luck, accidents and destruction of his or hers property. Who the **** do you think you are????

Ok well since you want to talk about that, I can easily justify the gift in which my parents have given me. I am by no means a selfish person and I will share all good fortune with people that I love. If I will 10 million, you are sure to bet my parents will be the first to receive a chunk of it. I at this present time don't and can't share nothing with them cause I am not as fortunate as them right now. I also will not forget this gesture, if ever my father or mother will need my help with anything. I am the first to sacrifice something in order to help others or them. They did not need to do this, they chose to, I didn't ask for it, they gave it. I am extremely grateful for it. Yes I am more fortunate then some but I have learned to appreciate what I have and is given to me and be satisfied with what I have. So yeah maybe it's not fair that I got some help on this... but I am not by any means a rich snob laughing at a guy driving a 89 rusted out civic cause that's all he can affort at the time being.... don't place judgements on people that are sometimes fortunate, sometimes they worked 10 million hours to get what they have.. sometimes not... but dont' judge others as you dont' want to be judged by them.
