Speaker Splice Location

I hooked up an AudioControl LC7 in between my 2007 Mazdaspeed non-Bose factory radio and a JL Audio 300/4 4 channel amp. I am getting 12v power to both the LC7 and the amp but no sound. Everything is properly grounded. I cut the factory speaker wires just behind the factory radio plug-in behind the radio and attached 14 ga speaker wire from the plug wires to the speaker level inputs on the LC7. Was this a good location to splice the wires or is there some sort of mazda processor farther downstream that I should have spliced in behind? Also...if I hook up an ohm meter betweem the plus and minus speaker level inputs on the LC7 and then again to the speaker outputs on the amp, would I get any reading that might be significant in diagnosing my problem? Thanks for any help...

Found the problem...the LC7 sound processor has an auxiliary input and the unit was set for that. All I had to do was plug in the aux input selector and change over to the main inputs.
