Sparkco Wires on MP3

The install is a piece of cake. You only have to remove two wires (see the photo from the top of this thread). I already had Densos in my car that I replaced right after I got my car so I really do not know the difference without the Densos. All that I know is that the wires do make difference. You will be happy with them..

Not necessary to change spark plug!

Hi, guys!! Thanks for all the comments on our products. If your car has below 20,000 miles, you may just leave the stock spark plugs for now.

Just to keep all members updated. Our prototype bolt on muffler should be ready by sometime next week. We will post all the fittment test result on the forum after. Also, we should be able to test fit our new cold air intake system in the time as well.

Stay tune guys! We are working very hard to build some high quality performance parts for the Protege. :p

MP3 owners will have to remove the valve cover to replace the wires (duh), just be careful not to pinch the wire when you put it back on, and make sure the wire does not flex at too much of an angle (that would reduce the electric properties of the wire). See the photos as it was installed in my car.

Another good thing; there's no customs fees since the wires are 100% (hand) made in Canada. Also, in case you didn't know the wires are covered by a lifetime limited warranty.

plz keep us informed on the CAI, cause with the price i heard its going to be reeeeeeally sweet

i want one :)

So when (at what mileage) would you suggest a change of spark plugs? Thanks!

Spark plug

 Hi Scott, usually at around 30,000 miles. We use a lot of Bosch Platinum+4, but we will try the new Denso later and see if there is any different.

Thanks Peter, I'm trying not to be annoying, I'm still learning a lot.:D thanks again.

well i installed my wired last night. my Butt dyno cant tell any difference, (but i never can). but what i can tell from the get go is alot of vibration is gone. I have the front AWR motor mount in, and all the vibration the mount gave me is gone now. its like i never put the mount in. so if you have motor mounts get the wires just cause of that. Sparkco was a great company to deal with. highly recommended.

With just your ONE mount in, how much (if at all) did it reduce your wheel hop?

i havnt had a chance to really "dump it" with just the one mount in. but i can tell from normal daily driving it has helped stop the wheel hope. once i get the money im going to have the dealership install the other mount.

Awesome, let me know what the diff is between one and two. I'm a wannabe you...I ordered the wires and the mounts both today.

ok i will, honestly with the one mount i got SOME more vibration. after i installed the wires it smoothed out the motor. and all the vibration i gained from the mount is all gone. now i just need the money to get the other one installed the dealer told me 100 bucks to do it. and didnt bug my about warranty when i said i got them from mazdamotorsports (which i actually got them from www.protege5online.com) HEHE dont tell the STealership.

OK

I am amazed that I have to ask this question after 2 pages of replies to this thread. But where on the net can I buy the Sparkco Wires????? Also are they really 40 bucks???

Wow, $100 is cheap! My dealer was talking 5 hours labor. WTF?

Also, PLZ write a "how to" for the front mount...with pics! :-)

When do you think you'll get the back one installed? Couple weeks?

Alright guys, someone asked this earlier in the thread but no one answered him....and I am wondering.

I am curious about any issues with only having two wires in the set. I know with the distributorless ignition that we have, that we only have two "wires", but what about the other two cylinders that have the leads straight off the ignition packs? Will there be any problems with the cylinders 1 and 3 running that much more efficient than cylinders 2 and 4? If anyone has any ideas, please, lets have em'. :) Thanks.

my dealership is preaty good to me cause i give them good reviews. they got my side markers for 60 bucks.

as for the how too. it was real easy that a write up with pics isnt worth it. this is what we did

1. jack up front of car
2. undo bolt going through the bushing
3. undo two bolts on bottom of mount.
4. put new mount in
5. put in bolt throught bushing
6. put on bolts on bottom of mount
7. tighten everything down
8. drop car.

it was pretty easy,my bolts were tough to get of we had to use a big breaker bar.

fastdrvr23 - as far as the two coils they are directly on top of plugs, so they feed the plugs and dont have to worry about 1/3 getting more spark then 2/4.
