Spare wheel TPMS question

For a 2024 Maxx Sport: if I buy a wheel off a wreck to use as a full size spare, what happens about the tyre pressure sensor?
Will it play nice with the 4 already on the car?
Will it cause issues?
Or do I need to buy a base Maxx wheel that would not have a sensor in it?

Should work fine. May confuse the Car with 5 Sensors trying to input info.

I don't think it will do anything if it's not 'registered' or paired, whatever.

Interesting. I wonder if having an unpaired sensor will put up a fault light on the instrument panel?

There is no registration or pairing process; if it's set up for Mazda, it is automatic. I'm not sure if the wheel position is close enough to be picked up.

The sensors only turn 'on' when the wheels rotate, so the 5th one should be mute.

You can be the crash test dummy!

Worse case scenario = if it causes problems, take the wheel into a tyre place, deflate it, pop the tyre off the bead and remove the sensor from inside. Reinflate tyre. Get it rebalanced.

Keep the sensor as a spare.
