Sparco Harness Bar?

Hey all. I've heard a couple times that the sparco harness bar for the wrx will fit the protege without any modification to the bar, and little or no work to our car. Can anyone else confirm this? I have brackets for my torinos coming in a couple weeks, and a buddy of mine has one of these bars. We're going to make an attempt to install it. Any info or insight you have on doing this would be greatly appreciated. Pics below for those of you who don't know exactly what bar I'm talking about. Thanks...

Like I said, I never got any concrete details as to if this would be possible, that's why I was putting a thread up to see if anyone had any knowledge on it.

damn i never realized they use only one bolt on the top per side.....if i modified my design to do that it would be 100 times easier to make since i made mine to line up with all 4 stock seatbelt holes..... hmmm....... sorry to threadjack.... good luck on the install. i have heard alot of people say it can be done but i have never seen it done

Alright guys... I was looking for someone who knew for sure, but I guess since we don't have that, I'll be the test pig. Brackets should be here in the next couple of weeks. I might or might not try to mess with the bar before then... school starting next week. If it indeed works, I'll take pics along the whole way and write up a how to. If anyone else has any info that might be helpful, it would be greatly appreciated. I'll keep ya posted.

I have not talked to Andy in like 3 weeks. He had asked me about possibly making one but has never told me when. I know this upcoming week I'll be in Ocean City MD so I know it won't get done then. I will call him and find out when he wants to get this going

i would sooooo try to make this, if i had a pipe bender and something that long to reach the floor. i got the welder, and need some practice welding hehe

I measured the distance between the B pillars on the Protege and the WRX and there is only a 1/2 inch difference. That should be easy to compensate for just by tweaking the bar a little. The mounts that go from the bar to the floor mount in almost the same place on both cars, but that is the only part that might require a little modification.
