Sparcko Wires Install!

man....I was considering whether i should get these wires or not.
i didn't really care about the performance gain on this one, but you need professional mech to install this???
hmm...
hey, acidbbg sorry to hear that and thanks for sharing information.

No Problem! Anyone Else have Some Opinoins(sp) they would like to share...Or their experiences w/ these wires...

Good or BAd!

Well, unlike acidbbg I DID notice a reduction in the 'hopping' after installing the Sparkco wires (back in January). It's definitely still there to a point, but the throttle tip-in is noticeably less abrupt and the degree of driveline bounce has been reduced. I also found that the engine idled a bit more smoothly with the new wires. On the other hand, I didn't notice any performance benefit or any improvement in fuel economy, but I wasn't expecting any so I'm not disappointed.

Personally I don't see why you'd need a professional to install these. I'm not much of a do-it-yourselfer when it comes to cars but I changed the wires out on my lunch hour.

They will always say that it must be installed by an approved mech. to cover their $%#. Guess what, I build , repair and fly planes for a living. A car is much simpler than that.

I do my own maitenance on my wife's car and even on the P5. When only once to the dealer and got into a scrap with the pimple head that was doing my first oil change. The idiot left is wrench on the roof of the car. How dum can u be?????

My point is that it's not because I dont have a DEP (diploma in professional studies (basically to learn a job)) that I dont know to work my ride.

Yes this is just a plug and play...It's really simple to install these wires....All you do...is unplug your old wires..and input the new ones...No bolts to screw/unsrew...no dissasembling(sp) of any part of the engine...or spark plugs...

On a scale of 1-10
10 being as hard as installing a new engine
1- being as easy as filling up your gas tank

I would rate the install as a 1.2 b/c you will get your hands dirty!

Yeah, I already created a new thread for us.....but apparently no one had gotten their wires yet. Your's arrived before mine, which is this Friday,....so have you pulled them off yet?..Peace!

Not yet...I am at work..and i left the OEM one's at home...When i get home tonight...I will remove them and see if they break....

Listen guys:

I jumped on Sparco pretty hard when they first arrived on the board because they were selling products without being an authorized vendor. While their response to my post in their initial thread may have been less than polite, I think they have shown a willingness, at least here on the forum, to correct the problems that come to them. Give them some time to correct this, and as they noted all products have a failure rate.
If the price is too high, dont buy them. It is a free market. If you have already bought them and had a failure, then yes, continue to press for a solution.
But let's not just flame indiscrepantly.

Brook is right... I have had no problems with my wires in the ~6 months they've been on the car. When this thread started, I went home and pulled my wires off to inspect them and they were fine. I slapped a little Dielectric grease on the boots and promptly reinstalled them... They seem like a good product to me. :)

Guys...I am Not Flaming Sparkco..I am just voicing my opinoin of the wires...which is the whole idea behind this Forum!!

I think they have an ok customerservice department...I would say they have better if they actually reimburssed me for the cost of the shipping!
Kinda Nervous??....LOL!

Yess allman...I am very nervous to see if they brake again..b/c i don't want to have to pay to send it to them again...and get taken again for the cost of shipping it back to them!

It took over a week for them to get them..but they did turn around and mail them fairly quickly to me!

On a side note..they didn't include any dielectic grease

I challenge you to find any company that will pay for shipping for a warranty claim.

:D

Just to let you know that HP/Compaq sent out FedEX to my door steps to PICKUP a bad laptop battery under the 1 year standard warranty and then returns with FedEX 2-day (or was it NEXT DAY?... I was out of town that week) business shipping for the new replacement. All this at NO cost to me. That is just one example of a company that will pay for shipping for a warranty claim. Not to cause a scene, but just to say paying for shipment under warranty DOES indeed exists in this world.

My problem with SparKco is that they put that silly disclaimer notice (post earlier in this thread) suggesting that customers should refer to a mechanic for installing their wires. That is totally unecessary and I just don't want them to end up "evaluating" the cause of the damage to their wires they sold to me and voiding the warranty with the excuse that I did not have a "certified" mechanic install the wires for me in the first place. Not saying they would be that devious, but I don't know Sparkco well enough to backup their reputation. I bought these wires because of the reputation of one person from this website (who still has a good reputation as far as I can tell).

When my cellphone broke...verizon told me to mail it in...i told them..that according to my contract and the fact that i am paying for insurance..that they should deduct the price of the shipping from my deductable...which they did!

Chas

P.S. i wasn't able to take off the wires yesterday..do to lots of rain/sleet...

Do I have to give a list

Dell,compaq, so on so forth.
Paid for shipping both ways.
So when a company says the will cover shipping and then they don't is bad PR.

I do commend ( after repetitive disagreement on our end) Sparkco's efforts to correct the problem. But customer's have already been effected here, so the only way to bring customers back is to make damn sure this product demonstrates excellent quality on the revised design..Peace!

Well pulled my wires and

one of the boots are messed up, but did not break.
But I will have pic's tomarrow...
