I've been having this problem for a while but it is finally getting on my nerves. This only happens when I listen to the radio (That I've noticed). The sound seems as though it will randomly move from all 4 speakers and 2 subs in the back to maybe just the right side or louder on the left or even sound like the volume was turned down. Also, it doesn't clip or pop to this, it's just a subtle change. Any ideas what this could be...This is an Apline HU.
Also, this may or may not be related but when I have my iPod hooked up to the included adapter from the HU the sound will randomly cut out and ONLY play on the front right (or just right side) speaker(s) (the subs cut out too). The only way I can get it to come back on is if I touch the bottom of the iPod (metal) the the E-brake button and it'll snap on, but when I remove it it'll go back to the poor quality.
If I punch the right side of the dash the sound will become very low and stay like that until I shut the car off.
....crazy.
