With September 11 fast approaching and everyone getting on edge expecting something to happen again. Then through in the strong possibility of a war in Iraq, Desert Storm 2, I wanted to throw up a thread with something to keep in mind over the next week. Well, actually something to keep in mind always.

It is considered not correct today to talk in the above terms in most circles.
The above statements are not from weak, timid men. Not statements wishing and hoping or legislating that someone else will protect them, feed them, support them, take care of them. Our founders were very strong, self reliant men. These men wanted to be FREE of any restraints, even those that were well intentioned.
We have "Homeland Security" now. What the h*ll is that!! Does anyone know what they have done or what they really intend to do to make us "safer".
We need to celebrate, focus on, promote people that are real heroes. That get the job done. Like the men on the plane who attacked the hijackers. The parting words of one was "let's roll". The firemen and policeman and others who entered the towers to help. The Marines and others who went (and are there now) to Afghanistan. I see and hear little of the sacrifice, bravery, and strength of character these individuals have shown.
If you watch the news you would hardly know we have troops on the ground in Afghanistan in danger. Taking rockets, mortar fire, and sniper fire and returning same.
It pains me to listen to weak, timid people with too much education, ramble on with weak, wimpy, over-intellectualized arguments.
Honor, courage, commitment. Adapt, improvise, overcome. Strength of character.
Getting the job done. Bravery, honesty, integrity. People in and formerly in uniform display these characteristics daily.
