Some Questions

First off, my names Blake from VA. I bought a 2001 Mazda Protege MP3 about 6 months ago. I have really enjoyed it. Just registered for this forum and thought I'd come out with some questions.

I'm looking to improve the performance of my MP3. Any information on the best route to take to powering it up would be appreciated. Currently everything I am running is stock, and like most people I just want more Horsepower, torque, etc. Good brand names and statistics would be awesome.

Along with dealing with upgrades for my MP3, I'm also curious what others have done. Let me know what you have and how it performs, or just show off! Doesn't bother me one bit really haha.

As for my mods I have a BEGI turbo system, makes the car alot faster but it has its draw backs.

Thanks for the link, that was just what I was looking for. I'm comparing everything I can. Once I decide what I may have more questions. I seem to be full of them.

I even have another... I have yet to find a logical reason as to why when I shift from 1st to 3rd at high rpm's it will grind a bit. Any ideas as to why or what I can do to stop this from happening, or am I doing something wrong?

why are you shifting from first to third? excuse me if this is a stupid question only car i've ever had until now was an auto

My first manual that "I" owned.

Double clutching, seeing if I can get a quicker jump.

Or if I'm just trying to keep rpm's down, I'll go from 1st till I'm around 25mph, (3.5krpm or so) and just goto 3rd.

Like I said maybe I shouldn't do this, any info?

yea, you need to replace the synchro in the transmission, i had the same problem, but it was when going from 2nd to 3rd, try revving high in 2nd, and then going to 3rd, if it still happens then that is the problem.

Hmm, how do I go about that MP3boy? and no when I go high RPM's from 2nd to 3rd it doesn't grind at all.
