Some pics of installed FMIC

I haven't done a pump yet. I will get that and a tune in the late winter. I have put 40 miles on the car so far this month so I will be gentle until I do the last upgrades. After that I will just be holding out to do a manifold and turbo upgrade some time after 30k.

I wonder if the PG exhaust manifold would have fitment issues with that pipe and the way it turns toward the hot side of the turbo over the engine. Not to mention the effects of a hot manifold right next to a silicone elbow.

1) Oh wow it looks close. The intercooler pipe is raised a good bit though. I could probably either raise the pipe higher into the now hollow hood scoop area or bend a new pipe that goes straight towards the front and not towards the passanger side at all.
2)That manifold looks like crap. Is it old? Its dark and stained like it has 50,000 on it already.
3)Laloosh I have a very good feeling that the CP-E intake will not fit with the Turbo XS FMIC. My IC pipe is quite near the shifter weight which I know is occupied by the CP-E.

That is a photo of the prototype, raw, unfinished pipe. But yeah, i think if that manifold is in your future, this IC may be a problem.

So I plan to get a FMIC soon and I was planning on this TurboXS kit but if I'm gonna have problems with the PG exhaust manifold then I might pass. So what would be best? CorkSports FMIC or the TXS?

The Turbo XS and ATP both are mounted this way. The pictures I have seen of the Cork Sport look to have the pipe coming out towards the battery so I would say that you will have to look closer at that one. Enjoy it.

Cat under my hood

cool - looks good, I just installed mine too. What intake do you have ?
I have a problem with mine, when I get into boost, I get a high pitch squeal like a cat, the more boost the louder the squeal. I have re-tightened all the t-clamps and the bpv. The only other thing I can think of is maybe the core has a leak ? If anybody has any ideas PLEASE let me know. (scratch) Everytime I take the car out and get into boost my wife laughs at the "cat under the hood".

please explain the "correct position" of the clamps (uhm) Thanks man! I will take the bpv off and re-position!!!! Qudos (2thumbs)

There is no correct position. If you want to diag out the problem tighten the clamps one at a time starting at the turbo and ending at the throttle body. I found a few of mine loosened up from the original placement after driving a few miles. I also took the BOV off and made sure to seat the gasket well and then tightened that down very well. The BOV can be turned because the hole tolerances are pletty loose but it is no biggie. I also put a SRI on at the same time so my car sounds really different from the last time it was running. One point I would like to see resolved with Turbo XS is the BOV flange has 2 hollow spots in between that and the pipe on each side. I am sure that will cause some of the whistle and turbulance also.
