If you go with an Evo make sure to get a IX and not an VIII. If you must get an VIII make sure to get an '05.

Just stay away from the '03-'04...don't ask me how I know (ughdance)

Clutches are a wear item and if an Evo is drag raced it will die quickly. I had my original for 34K then had it replaced while the car was in for work.

All the little things just add up for the '03-'04:

-open front differential (very weak)
-rod bearing issues
-p0300 code (random/multiple cylinder misfire)
-small turbo (9.8t hotside vs. 10.5t for '05 and up)
-5th gear syncro issue (TSB)
-doesn't respond to mods as well as a IX (getting 300hp in a IX is a boost controller and tune away)
-An '03 baselines at ~220hp stock an '06 baselines at ~240hp
-NO MIVEC!!!
-Clearcoat fades on rear wing

oh, ok, i mentioned the flywheels and clutch because i remembed an ariticle road and track did on the EVO's, in it they discovered that the clutches would last about 5-6k miles b4 blowin up due to the weak flywheel that overheated quickly

I bought the g35 in diamond graphite with 19s and aero package. Its awesome sounds great too.

Very nice choice. That's one of the sexiest car designs out there right now IMO, ESPECIALLY with those 19s *drools*.

I want to find a mint set of those 19s for my mom's 05 Altima. The stock chrome 17s look sorta small on the car.

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!! Show some pics of the car. So much power and the luxury amenities are amazing. When my sister's car was in the shop, the rental company gave her a brand new G35 (too bad it was auto), not even 30 miles on it. Good choice in color too.

Did you use Cars.com or AutoTrader to sell your MSP? 15k is an amazing price.
