So you want mudflaps on your Protege 5?

Not sure what happened to the photos. Up front they are screwed into the plastic liners on the wheel well. Out back is the same story. Use some self-tapping screws and you're set. Just make sure they are high enough off the ground (esp out back) otherwise anytime you back up there's a chance your wheel could literally run them over and pull them from the wheel well (it happened to me!).
 
So I just installed mine today. They are the black and red universal mounting Rally Armor mud flaps.

Just a couple photos of the front right side.







Here are the spots I mounted mine. I used 4 expansion anchors that are made for hollow dry wall. The entire anchor is metal including the part that expands.
I also used the one screw that is on the edge of the fender already. I will probably paint the anchors black to match.




Here is the entire car with them installed. Looks nice to me. :)
