well good and bad news DX brothers...

the cluster from a LX+ protege will fit fine... BUT

the odometer is internal, so suddenly my car gained 10k miles today when i hooked it up :wtf:

its not worth the hassle of taking them apart and switching the odometer...

YOU GOT MAIL.

i got an email about the pm, but i havne't got the pm yet. the amil did have the message on it though.

maybe i didn't make myself clear enough. i didn't buy the cluster. i used one from a yard today that the guy let me test to see if it worked. i believe it was a LX cluster since it still had black writing, but it was from a 2001, so i don't know if the ES+ came with white faces yet.

i did not buy it because the odometer would be messed and and you'd have to figure out a way to change it to the correct mileage, or it'd be a felony(i think). 14,100 miles is not = to 5,100 miles...

unless you can correctly change the odo to your current mileage we are in a tight spot. i do have a contact i can talk to this about though. he put an ES cluster in his LX. i'll ask him what he's doing for the odo.

Put the new cluster in. Hold on to the original cluster. When you are ready to sell the car - put the original cluster back in. Now you aren't breaking any laws.
