I don't get it.
A lot of places online list that rims with +40mm offset will fit protege5 without a problem. I talked to somebody from discount tire direct and they say 40mm will fit with no problems. this all thinking drives me crazy

who has p5 with stock ride height riding on 17x7 +40mm offset rims? post your experiences and pictures. thanks.

Whats up. Im running 17*7 rims with my MP5 with eibach springs and absolutely no rubbing at all. I also had times with 3 people in the car also and no rubbing. I have the RH evo C5'S. Heres a pic of them with Eibachs. Hope this helps.

very nice, tight ride. rishie says 40 won't fit. i trust him but a lot of people, like you, are running 40 w/o a problem. anybody else, more pics please.

Well yellow i have a little different size altogether.
I stayed with 16x7 at a 38 offset and it looks great with no rubbing at all! These are used for the winter with 205 50 16's
they are about the same diameter as some 17's with low profile's

ah, you are right, thanks for pointing that out. i guess i assumed he had 40 offset since thats what i was looking for. still, a lot of tire shops (not mom and pop places) including wheel manufacturers say 40 will fit.

i hate to pay for 16" since thats what I have now. and I don't really need special wheels or tires since it never snows in florida.

yellow, they are not special or anything. i like to keep the center of gravity low and the 16's are perfect for that. i just wanted something that looked better than stock and a little wider for performance.
with lowering springs this thing handles like its on rails.:D

so it is 40. thanks.
i was either thinking about the RS Limited Trama (ADR company) or Exel TZ-7 (same as motegi mr-7 and konig tantrum...) or ADR DV-8. Any suggestions? Anybody good with photoshop and has free time on their hands? :D I am thinking about white btw.

ADR DV8 come in the correct offset for P5.
I dunno about white rims on a yellow Protege unless they're 15" rally wheels. hehe

yeah, most of us won't put a white rim on a yellow car but some of us are just crazy like that :)
keep the suggestions and opinions coming.

So what about 18x7.5 with 45mm backspacing, anyone running those without rubbing?

Well I will post them once I get a chance. My bro has my digi camera and I havent taken any photos of my rims cause I just got them like 2 weeks ago. I will post them though. I will have the camera back tonight.

I have those and Tein springs. No rubbing with 1.8 inches drop in the front and 1.5 inches in the rear.

75k miles on the car? you sick, stop abusing your pro. some people should not own proteges :D i am just kidding of course.
thats unbelievable though. not to get off topic but any problems?

Finally, thanks!!

I was looking at all the Konig Blatent, and Prophet rims, and the offset seemed so close to Rishie's recommended, but not quite there, I thought I'd never get to have them.
