So what guage should I get . . .

Well im sick of my ghetto autozone performance plastic generic (damn lots of adjectives) pillar mount. It was designed to be screwed in but I don't want holes in my car. After some fabrication and cutting I made it look good but I have to stick it on with double sided sticky tape. I don't want to permanantly glue it to the pillar and make a mess.

Anyway . . . I decided to get the CPE triple guage thing on the center panel. Only prob is I have 2 gauges (in sig). I dont wan't to spend over 100 bucks. What gauge would be relatively usefull. I would love an A/F guage but those are expensive as hell and my scan gauge already shows me. I was thinking about oil temp . . . I don't even know how hot / cold this car should be running at.

i'm with ya coyfish. your sig shows boost what the other gauge?

i have boost, and intend to go with the triple pod too. i'm gonna run boost, oil pressure, oil temp.

should be cheap, and good ol vital info when making changes, or track days.

what happen to PG's dash pod. it was 55 bucks now it not on the site anymore.
200 plus from cp-e is a real kick in the balls...........

just bought an electric prosport boost gauge, i will let you know if the ceremony is worth it for the other ones, since you might as well match the other.

Are you asking which type of gauge or brand?

$100 bucks keeps it pretty simple, you're probably going to be looking at Prosport gauges. I've heard mixed reviews, but they seem to get the job done.

As far as the type of gauge, I see you have a boost gauge and the Aeroforce. I'd look into an oil pressure gauge, but that will require you going to a spin-on filter with a sandwich plate (unless someone knows which signal to tap into).

Oil temperature would be alright, but I think you can probably survive without it. I'd prefer to know that my engine is getting proper lubrication, even if the temps are getting high. EGT is a last option, but your Aeroforce might give you cat. temp, and that should suffice, unless you're heavily modded.

oil pressure should be tops on your list..... Loose oil pressure and continuing to drive will kill your car...

The type of gauge. I need something to fill the 3rd slot of a triple gauge mount. Im probably never going to even look at it but I want something thats relatively important to warrant its own gauge. My aeroforce scan guage tells me everthing already from a/f ratio to exhaust temps. And i already have a boost gauge so . . .

coyfish, did you buy a triple dash mount yet. i wanna know which one ya got and if you could post some pics.

i was lookin at the lid thing today, and i'm not sure how to get that thing off there. any ideas?

it is redundant i wont argue that, but i've seen some look incredible, and its a digital readout, which can be placed closer to your forward veiwpoint so you dont have to look down in between your steering wheel to away from the road get the perfect shift. shiftlights will only work ata set "redline", whereas the digital tach you can shift specifically at 3450rpm, or 2850, etc for gas saving/turbo avoidance.

Well my scangauge has a shiftlight. I decided to get an oil pressure gauge. I haven't bought anything yet. When Ken gets new PG turbo inlets in (2 weeks) im going to buy the CPE triple mount, the oil pressure gauge, and the inlet. That way I can knock em all out in one day.

I thought long and hard about the CPE (its expensive) triple pod but i tried to skimp on quality with a pillar mount that has been a real pita. I don't want to drill holes so ive got it stuck on with some tape but the florida heat gets to it and it falls off after a week. The triple mount is clean and easy.

As I mentioned im not going to buy them for another couple weeks but ill post pics when I get them installed.

Seems like you just pull to remove the center panel. Ill take a look tommorow. Can't really do anything but pull so . . .

You'll need to pull the radio out to get more access to the top of the center stack. That takes 10-15 minutes. Once that's out, you can remove the LCD unit and remove the top of the pocket on the bench instead of the car.

For the oil pressure gauge, are you tapping a signal wire or are you using a sandwich plate and spin-on conversion?

I'm surprised you are running the A-pillar mount. You risked getting smoked in the head with a gauge, huh?

I was actually looking at more gauges and I found a digital A/F / volts gauge from prosport. Was like 60 bucks and is very tempting. Its narrowband but can also be used as wideband. Guess the which guage to get discussion is still up.

As for the A pillar mount I don't understand why the speed 3's have them but the speed 6's don't. Both have side curtain airbags in the same spot. I had it really low on the pillar by the defrost vent and it was only taped on so I doub't it would fly at me.
