So the MS3 is really governed regarding top speed!!

My old '94 TBird had a fuel cut off/governor set at 115, and when I switched in a .373 rear end the something got messed up and it changed the top/cut to 85mph. It sucks on the highway, because she's fast for a basically unmodded heavy b**** V8, but when you think about it, why would you ever need to go over 85mph in a 4000lb heffer like that, in any car basically. Fun, yeah. No other reasons that are legal.

ive hit 153 gps. but then agin ive seen a fluke in one of my gps where it said i did over a thousand MPH i thought that was cool. i use garmin. o yeah in case you didnt know a spedometer is exponentioly off the faster you go so if its off 1-2 @ 30 its worse the faster you go its not off linier.

So roughly a 150MPH speedo indication would equate to 155MPH roughly?
I thought the faster you went, the faster your speedo indicated...Speedo= 150MPH Actual=145MPH...?

... then what good would a speedometer be?

If he hit a wall at 150, it could be a lot of things. He could be on slightly smaller tires, making the speedo off by a few percent. He could have been into a slight head wind and hitting the RPM range where torque drops off drastically, and just lacked the power to overcome air resistance.

My car is completely stock with 4.5K miles and a MS CAI with TRZ Poly MM; those are my only mods.

I'm thinking I might wake up early (4am) Christmas morning and try it again with my GPS... I figure there would be no cops on the road on that day/time...?

I'm thinking that the charge of Man Slaughter and the certain jail time that follows those charges is not worth the risk on a public road. I'll trust the manufacturer @ 155.
How horrible would it be to know you've taken a life as the result of questioning whether the car is capable of 155 or 160.

No life to be taken...maybe a rodent crossing the road.
This is a one way road with two lanes and at least a 12 foot median/ditch, no cross streets, no intersections, no on ramps, and no exit ramps. Its a 8 mile stretch of road that is deserted at times. Everytime I've done something like this, I've been the only one on the road...plus at 4am in the morning, I'm typically the only one on the road...except for the occasional road kill... So no life other than my own is at risk.

Always own a car that can at least go 88MPH. You know, for time travel and s***.

no im saying the faster you go the more your speedometer is off i had an indicated 153 gps i didnt look at my speedommeter.

If you've never seen anyone else on the road at 4am, it must not ever happen, right?

If I see someone on the road, then I'll reduce to posted speed limits...
I don't feel comfortable passing other cars at more than 10 MPH delta.

Hitting a racoon or skunk at 150=/=hitting said varmint or rodent at 60. If I were you, my aim would be to not hit anything.

Yeah, I'd rather not... (lol2)

Make sure you have a can of stella artios in one hand and the vid camera in the other, a phone against your chin/shoulder. If it is dark be sure to wear your sunglasses just incase- oh and have Guns N’ Roses on the cd player.
You should be good to go........

I would imagine there would be police on crimbo day and all throughout the holidays looking for drunk drivers.

right as you hit the apex at 160 take the empty bottle of tequila you just polished off and through out the window at the cop car sitting there with his radar gun, yeaahhhhh!!!!!!!(rockon)..........JUST KIDDING..LOL

It would be cool in that Family Guy sorta way that if he nailed the squad car with a bottle of tequila moving at 160, the squad car blows up.

i was just kidding around i was refering to the joking tone of "meha11" his post above mine. I have freind who is hpd and another who is a sherrif. Just a joke.

it would be funny if someone did that where no one got hurt but got away with it and had it on video like on youtube or something

OK well I did 160 in my Civic once and it was insane. I don't have any desire to do it again soon. If you sort of do the math the MZSPD3 could hit 172ish unlimited. I have verified my Mazda speedo against a cop radar at 1/4 of redline in 6th gear. So that speed x 4 is how I came up with 172ish. Thats obviously how I also figured out 160 in my Honda I redlined 5th in that.

Gear ratio wise the MS3 might be able to do that, but if you take air resistance and aerodynamics into consideration, could the MS3 reach that speed with its horsepower/torque?
