So the MS3 is really governed regarding top speed!!

AWSOME BROTHER!!!, ive been waitin for someone with our speedomater to do a 160 pull you see a bunch of eurpen speeds hit 260kmh on youtube we need to show them up with 160MPH!! i do it if i had a road where i new i wouldnt get busted..

If you watch Lalooshes speedo vid, you'll see that it gets up there QUICK. I'm sure driver311's is the same. A few mods and it unleashes the beast.

what does my car have to do with it? in the vid there is another speed doing it? my point is.. that maybe over here our cars are governed and in eurpoe maybe they are not! What the hec does me trying it in my car have to do with the argument?????

He's saying that that's some crazy ass driving even just in a straight line and if you get stopped your ass is going to jail no matter what the circumstances and that's not a take-a-class kind of ticket. That's the kind of ticket that at the very least costs $1k or more and probably gets a license suspended, and in turn greatly affects your home and professional life. It's not worth it for the cheap thrill to just willy-nilly decide to go 150 on your average highway/interstate w/o LOTS of planning INCLUDING but not limited to a spotter and a few different, "Lose 'em," routes in case the worst happens.

i know your right and thats what sucks... i can't afford to loose my liceense etc. but if I was on a country road i propbaly would give it a quick shot(drinks)

Come on, if you get stopped you can you just flash your MS-CIA ID and drive off like a Mazdaspeed version of Jack Bauer. (For the love of god, son, are ever going to fix your sig?)

the habusa can nock 160 in about 100millisecinds, on youtube a guy in a habusa pulls a wheely at 80mph and a couple ticks later he lays hers down at 160

Without looking at the movie, I can assure you that the phrase "lay her down" is a bad thing when talking to fellow motorcyclists! Maybe you mean "set her down?" Anybody laying a bike down at 160 is going to look like meat puree' afterwards...

^^^+1

Laying bikes down is both expensive and painful.

After your posts, I don't know if I want to retry the 150MPH run again with my GPS...(nervous)
I don't want a ticket and I definitely don't want to go to jail...(nailbyt)(five-0)

I'll just wait a little later...might as well not commit the same crime twice in the same spot the next day...(lol2)

i mean lay down the front wheel from a wheely....come on man

LOL, we know that now.

I'm glad to see everyone considers themselves to be invincible, at 150mph the worst that can happen is not a ticket. I'm no saint so no lectures from me but recent good news has given me something to live for- i'll be in no rush to do stuff like this again.

Be careful.

Whats the recent good news...if you don't mind us asking...???(scratch)(lol2)

From my research all MS3/MPS’s are governed (155mph). It is easy to look up, you can merely look up Mazda sources. 100% of all research/testing websites/magazines out there also agree. With the people in Europe proving this online 260ish is the top-end, but this car is capable of 270-280 in my opinion, regarding the power to weight ratio alone. Put a good set of tires on one, a CAI to make it breathe like it should and if we could remove the governor this car would pull past 260 easy.

This is my favorite video, check it out…8:39 around the Nurburgring and they hit the rev limiter for sure!

PS: there are 2 more videos to this. The one I linked, plus public day and a closed run they did...just look them up, they rock!

Edit: here is the closed one...

jeez, so many drivers and none take it to the limit...we stop @ 148-150 because it is @ 6000 rpm, it still pulls, but pulls good to about 6200, 153-4 mph. you need good room to hold it too. with good mods, i say max is 160-165.

Me stopping there has nothing to do with the limiter, but everything to do with me being a pussy.

I didn't stop at 150...the car did.
My needle was moving along until it hit 145-150 and slowed down and stopped at 150...didn't budge... I had it floored, the engine wasn't even screaming...
(huh)
