Im posting this at work, hope my boss doesn't review what websites I post to (sssh)

I work graveyard, and our company got bought out, so things aren't looking pretty.
I've interviewed at some places, and I actualy have a second interview for one place today, and it sounds really promising (they want me to meet everyone who works there now).
I'm just a contractor where I'm at now... but they offered me a full time position twice, both times it fell through because of the merger going on, and I just cant take the uncertainty anymore.
I've got 4 cylinders to feed! I'm just bitching really, but I'm stressing out, cuz I just spent almost $1,000 on a vacation to Alaska later this summer, and now my job prospects arent stable.

I just hope things work out, and I get to keep my Mazda3, a roof over my head, and food... I've never had to worry about much before, until I got car payments, rent, and all that crap.
Grrr

Guess Ill shutup now, since this is probably the wrong forum anyways!

So what do you do ?

I do IT work. Right now I work graveyard in the NOC. Nothing glamerous at all, and its really boring. They dont take advantage of my skills or anything either.
They just throw "procedures" around so the lowest common denominator can follow them.
I've got a lot of background with Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, BSD/Linux, and it all goes to waste. I've let my CCNA lapse also, since they never put it to use here.

This new job I've interviewed for seems pretty exciting, theyre too new to have any established procedures, its small so you get to do a bit of everything.
Unfortunatelt, its a Windows shop, so I'll have to retrain myself a bit to get back into the Windows groove.

I'm just stressing, since I've had a lot of expenses come up recently, and all of the sudden I'm having to worry about my job... scary s***!!

Well, I got that job I applied for!

No more graveyard for me!
I start at 6am, and get off at 2:30, so I have damn near a full day to do whatever I want, in normal human hours!
I'm totaly psyched!

******* graveyard damn near killed me over the year.
