So I quit smoking..

Kyle...what did I tell you about Methol....KYLE........Momma says, menthol is for loose girls and street-gang members.

i just quit a while back. it definately sucks, but it will get easier! are you using nicorete or anything? it helped me, some poeple say it doesn't work. i couldn't have done it without it.
just think of all the money you'll save! i figured i will save almost $1500 this year.
good luck!

You can do it Spice, really it isn't hard as some people try to make it be. The chemical addiction is small and like most chemicals your body filters it out quickly. The real barrier is the mental aspect that one must overcome. Heance why someone suggest gum chewing, something to trick your mind into thinking it is getting relieve. Give it a bit longer, and you will over come it.

just go cold turkey, my mom did it after 15 years of smoking and one day stop hasn't smoked for 5 years

I quit a month ago. I never was a heavy smoker to begin with so it wasn't too hard. The only times it really bugged me is every once in a while when I am stressing at work, and I need a break, and when I am at bars and everyone around me is smoking.
At work, I just climb stairs when I need to get out of the office for a bit. 20 stories up and down helps me clear my mind.
At bars it is tougher, I have a friend that dips a lot, and ever once in a while I have bummed off him if I really want some nicotine, lol. I know most people think dipping is digusting, but I think it is less addictive than cigarretes. I remember reading about how the addictiveness of a drug is directly correlated to how fast the effects come on. With dipping, it is slower than cigarretes. I do enjoy dipping every once in a while, but I never craved it.

Anyways, whenever I really want a cigarrette, I just think how smoking one would be admitting I have a weak will.

Yeah, I'm going cold turkey. I've been smoking about a pack a day for about 4-5 years. It's god awful for you. The chemical addiction only lasts for 2 days, and I'm more or less ok now. But the last two days i've been the most irritable ass on the face of the earth. Definetly saving a lot of money now though..or at least..will be.

and not 10 seconds after posting, I got the worst craving EVER for a cigarette..I have a pack sitting on my table with a note on it that says "smoke and die" on it. It's worked well thus far, but now I'm questioning it.

i never smoked so i can't say, but apparently if you chew on the end of a hollowed-out plastic pen it makes it easier......

way ahead of you pal

how is everything little thing though justin?

The car won't run...I'm flat broke and I need to rebuild me head. Other than that things are good. I'm 90% sure that I bent a valve on the way to my friends house to install the MPI tuner. So now I have complete timing and fuel control over a motor that doesn't run.

Dude...I'm telling you. Wear a hoddie with lots of X's on it. It makes you invincible.

Good luck! I quit 4 months ago, and you are definitely doing the right thing--you'll just feel so much better healthwise, even after a week--you'll have so much more energy. Your clothes won't smell, your teeth and fingers won't be yellow, you'll be able to taste and smell things a lot better, and you'll also be saving a shitload of money. There are NO negatives to quitting!

I hope you don't mind but I have a little advice--get rid of that pack of cigarettes sitting on your table. Don't leave that temptation just sitting there in front of you. When you commit to quitting, you have to commit all the way.

Keep it up. I've been a pretty light smoker for a couple of years, I stopped for good about 3 months ago. Luckily my withdrawels only lasted a couple days and I could only imagine what you are going through. Good luck!
