Just thought I'd post some before and after close up shots with a tape measure from the install this past Sunday in case anybody wants to see.

double A-ron, how long did the install take? Did you run into and complications or frustrations?

Did you have to use a spring compressor to install the Eibachs?

Reason I ask is when I installed springs on my last car, I needed a compress to remove the stockers and the new springs did not need them.

Thanks for the info!!!

You do have to compress eibachs as well. The frustrating part of the install is reinserting the front struts, as even with the antiseize they don't really wanna go back in.

I thought the front struts went in a lot easier than they came out. I didnt use anti-seize though.

To confirm yes the fronts need to be compressed to be removed.

I think Sok07 who helped with the install said the time breakdown was 2 hours for the front and 1.5 for the rear. It was my first time working on such an install, so my noobishness with it all, may have made it take a bit longer. And as others have said, yes, you need a compressor for the fronts.

I agree, it was a pain in the ass getting the fronts out and it was much easier getting them back in.

So just to be clear:

Front dis-assembly: requires spring compressor
Front install: requires spring compressor

What about the rears?

Rear dis-assembly: ?
Rear install: ?

I don't know whether there's a technique to reinsert them, but I did have a hard time doing that. Taking them out though was pretty easy using lots of PB blaster and the scissors jack after.
The rear install is as easy as installing the RSB, and you don't need the compressors for that.
By the way, regarding the compressors, you can rent them out for as long as you wish from Autozone. And, guess what, the rent is free. You leave $50 deposit and you collect it back upon the return.

My fronts came out pretty easy, I used a spindle spreader tool that i had to use with my MKIV GTI, it had the same slot in the rear of the front spindle as the Mazda. Here's the part if your curious http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd...bmodel=&category=Tools&subcategory=Suspension Its simple to use, just insert the tip at the bottom of the strut and turn to the flat side of the bit and it stays put..opens the spindle right up without having to use the jack method.

I had a brain fart... (doh) Yeah, the MS3 has separate spring shock setup...
I just help my little brother install springs and his setup is spring over shock (coilover style) on the rears...

Well its day 3 and im getting some cracking sounds from the top spring hats i think...not sure why but i plan on pulling them back off next weekend to see what the problem is..i hear it only when i go over the edge of my driveway or the crevices in the pavement, but other wise its noise free, I did kinda notice alittle of the same noise when it was stock but its louder now..hopefully i can go back and realign and check the torque on all the bolts. Anybody else notice the same type of noise?

Realigned the top hat on the drivers side..the bottom nipple was more than half way around from the rear align point..which is way off, passenger side was ok..now its pretty much completely noise free..thats what rushing got me, A BIG do over!(braindead
