Why is everything so expensive. I'm am seriously considering dropping the whole modding of the P5 and just going to start pouring all my money into building my 550 spyder. I can build a +160 engine for a 1200 pound car for 3k. They sell the whole bottome end: forged crank, forged con rods, forged pistons for only 800.00. See this..this is what I'm gonna have in a year :p

Spiders are OK. Beware the low engine.. if you hit a bump big enough you will
1-break the engine bottom oil cover
2-bump the engine up into the hood
3-spend alot of money

That being said, considering stiffening the suspension.

If you bought a gene berg oil sump in the first place you wouldnt have that probelm. I think a nice type 4 motor, some CB fuel injection, tapped cases, little stroke, and a good bore job will make one of those things scream. Nothing a high power to wieght ratio.

The Beck Spyder is made only about 2 1/2 hours from my house....I have been drooling over building one for a long time....they are truely bad ass....and you can easily build a type 1 motor that will make a 550 scream like a striped ass ape with its back side on fire.

its actually quite easy to get upwards of 180 reliable HP out of one....if you use the right parts...and aren't afraid to dig into your wallet.

you want a good engine? stick with Gene Berg Enterprises. you can NOT go wrong. Have Clyde (Gene's son) do your head work, its worth every dime.
