So, a drunk driver crashed into my parked car last night...

Had this happen to me a few years back...except the damage wasn't as bad, and it was a hit and run (the drunk was on his way OUT). :(

Closer look now (with my sister who's worked insurance for 15+ years): looks like the 5 is totaled....official word later.

damn dude that really sux. I was wondering to because that whole passenger side needs to be replaced....

Man this sucks.....blah i hate people sometimes...i hate people with no morals....this sucks donkey balls i hope they get you a good car if it is demed totalled. best of luck and may the best be with you.

Damn, that's ******* ridiculous. Sorry Dimitrios, sucks having your car ****** up enough to where it is undriveable. Hope things get better for you.

It makes you wonder how he managed to make it so far without hitting anything...only to hit your car when he was almost home. But it proves what they say, most accidents happen less than a mile from your home.

They probably won't get him on the drunk driving charge...if they had the evidence they would have arrested somebody in the house that night. I suppose he could claim to have been sober until the accident and then he ran in the house and started pounding beers back.

Were there plenty of witnesses who saw someone run from the car to the house or were people just making the assumption it was him because they recognized the car? If people saw him stumble and fall down as he walked back to the house that could help prove he was drunk.

I'm not sweating it...it's just a car. Things *are* better - I woke up today, enjoyed the sun, got to enjoy the sight of a nice ass on Kristen, the Enterprise rental car agent (butthump), taking the day off work :D....

I'm not one of these people where my life is devastated just because something I "own" got taken away....

My life continues on; I'm not going to let this dickwipe get me down.

I have a neighbor witness who will testify on my regard if need be - he saw someone (i.e. probably couldn't ID the face with it being 500+ feet away and night) run from the SUV to the house. Others came out after the face (ie. they heard the impacts, etc).

The cops didn't find anything in the vehicle (open containers, etc). However, it helped that the assfuck left his wallet and cell phone in the SUV.

And yes, it is amazing how he just happened to hit *just* our cars, but whatever...we don't even talk to the guy or anything, so I can't see how he'd have some 'vendeta" against us (or anyone else).

He lives on the corner and rarely talks to anyone nor does anyone see him. He parks on the side street and just comes and goes as he wants.

Oh, hey guys, I appreciate the vulturing staring already (via PM, email, and phone calls already....).

I'll do what I can to strip the piss out of the 5 if/when it OFFICIALLY decided that is totaled.

I know it's habit on here and parts are scarce sometimes....I'll keep everyone posted

I am so sorry to hear about this - I'm just glad you weren't in the car when it happened. I'm guessing you won't be catching your flight today, huh? :)

i really can't imagine that they'd total it. it looks about as bad as the damage my car took when a minivan rammed it - wrecked the driver's side of the car pretty good. i'm hoping they don't total it, you had one of the cleaner p5s around IMO and took excellent care of it.

it's worse...the wheels are pointed in two different directions and the strut has been shifted, so there's some underpinning damage there. The lower A-pillar has been further damaged....it's pretty "deep".

But we'll see..good thing I never installed anything (nobody)

oh man - thats really not good. that SOB better have some insurance other than Eagleman :)

Even if you are arrested for drunk driving, you don't lose your license until you go to court and plead guilty or are convicted.
(speaking from experience)

sorry but this is not true

when I was arrested for DUI, my license was taken at the police station and sent to the state (Ohio) to essentially be destroyed

I had to get a new license after I went to court 6 or so weeks later and got it reduced

Yeah, I just have to make sure they put it all against cocksucker's policy...I don't care if he ends up living in a box after all this.
