Snow?

So for the first time since I've been in Georgia, it snowed, 7 inches 2 days ago. Anyways I had no choice but to drive through so sketchy terrain. Anyways I think something maybe out of wack with my powersteering and/or suspension. Any guesses. Just seems like I have to turn the wheel more to make a left or right more now then I did before. Also, I'm finding it hard to keep my car going straight.

a little help here...

you noticed this WHEN you had to drive through snow or AFTER you drove through snow?? more details please.

I put my shoe on today and noticed my toe hurts. Do you think I need new shoes? :D

dont give it an throttle while you turn, running stock MS3 tires is alot like trying to pogo stick across an ice rink. Be careful and take your time.

i noticed this after. The roads were pretty nasty. I'm not running stock tires. It could just be in my head, but it just seemed too different. Like I said its kinda hard to keep straight.

You're not being very descriptive of the problem. It snowed, it melted. If temperatures are back up to normal and there is no ice on the roads, you shouldn't be having any problems. Did you hit any serious bumps or potholes? Any odd noises when you go over bumps? How about when you turn? How about when you turn very sharply? Have you inspected your tires for any problems or uneven pressures left to right? Any visible problems with the steering angles or camber of your tires? Any issues with the steering issues tending left or right?

Come on man, help us out here.

lol damn georgia. temperture drops below freezing and most schools closed and i see 4-5 accidents with 1 car on fire in matter of hours.

The noises I hear is coming from the back. Sounds like a clunk when I go over medium bumps in the road. Tire pressure is good all around. Can't see any visible camber problems. When I'm turning I have to turn the wheel a lot more now then before to negotiate a turn. Even when I'm going straight sometimes the steering wheel is turned to the left a bit. The steering doesn't seem as responsive. I have to turn it more just to get into the next lane. I was looking at some yugos, but they are too expensive. haha

if your wheel isn't pointed straight anymore while going straight, then chances are the front end alignment is off. Get an alignment and see if things improve. (drive2)

The clunk in the bank sounds like a problem with the swaybar endlinks coming loose, so you may want to have that looked at. As for the steering problems, did you hit anything when there was snow on the road, a curb maybe, or a hidden pothole?

You said you aren't running stock tires, did they handle this way before the snow, or did you get them changed during the storm?

Weather doesn't make a car stop steering wheel, alignments don't magically get out of whack, and steering rates shouldn't change. It sounds like an alignment issue or maybe a ball joint/tie-rod issue. If the rear end swaybar has come loose, it's possible that is it too, in theory. Get it looked at.

Ya im going to get an alignment and have the endlinks looked at. I've heard this noise before and the endlinks had to be tightened down, so I'm sure this is the same thing. Hopefully the alignment will take care of the steering. Thanks.

Hehe, once it drop below freezing and snows, Georgians seem to think their cars aren't capable of functioning properly, therefore it takes me forever to get to work!
