man if you're gonna get one, get a good one. the valentine one is probably one of the best, if not the best you can buy. they also have a laser jammer feature to give you a chance if they're using a laser gun rather than a radar gun.

Got the Phanton II laser Jammer, and that thing is Nut's. Got one of those Speed thing's That show's how fast you are going on the side of freeway. But i was going like 73mph and my laser started going off, suddenly i came up on it, it clocked me at 65Mph. I was like:wtf: didn't really think it worked at all. So went back again and it said i was doing 60 when i was going like 68-70mph. It didn't really impress me as my Escort8500 though. I love that radar. That radar goes off whenever it detect's a Signal from like a 2-5mile radius. No Bullsh**. I remember i was going like 85-90mph, next thing you know my radar start's beeping and my heart start's pounding, as i swallow from my throat. Kick down back to the Speed limit, which is (65mph) just kept looking from behind in the mirror or on the side of the road, still Nothing. 1-2 miles later, sure enough there was a Highway patrol coming the opposite direction i was going. I Love my Escort8500, "it has saved me alot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ just being aware if i'm speeding or not. Got mine 2-3yrs ago from Cartoys.com for only $225Shipped. Also got the (RMR) C-302 which is the Rocky moutain Radar.

DAMN! That's almost twice as much as the biggest ticket I ever got. At that speed, you should be lucky they didn't arrest you on the spot (I think 100+ & they do). If you would have left it in gear, going down the hill probably would have slowed you down.

SLOW DOWN & get an Escort 8500...believe me, it will save you $$ in the long run.

If the Officer is a Di**. you can be arrested for doing 20+mph over the Speed limit. Say the Speed limit is 70Mph and he glock's you at 90-95mph you can be arrested unless if he's a nice guy, and let's you off and suggest's to you," you need Traffic School.

Actually, I'm feelin ya..I lost my license in NJ back in 1995 for having 17 points (6 points in one day!)...anyway, it doesn't phase me now..I just pay attention more. I had a radar & it got stolen...long story short - I just watch for the brake lights ahead. I know it's not the best, but I do anywhere from 80 up to 120 (honest to God) now w/ my MSP, and I haven't gotten a ticket yet.

do what I do....just learn where it's good to speed, and where the 5-0's sit...and ALWAYS watch for brake lights...dead giveaway!

EDIT: Actually, don't do what I do...obey the speed limit (LOL-yeah right) and get a good radar detector, or two even (one front, one back)...

Actually most of the people that get screwed, is when the Officer think's your Speeding and driving recklessly with other people in the car, with a bad Driving record. All you gotta do is say one word that intend's to make his day and you're on your way.LOL BTW: do you have a Radar to be going triple digit speed's? Man becareful

I got an old el-cheapo Uniden model from Best Buy for $80 and I couldn't be happier with it! Well worth the $80. I don't recommend the high priced ones simply because my $80 one works and because a friend of mine bought an el-expensivo model for almost $300 and the damn thing just sits there and beaps CONSTANTLY whether there's a copy around or not. It's useless.

I used to speed all the time when I was a kid but as you get older you realize that there's really no point in being a habitual speeder. It doesn't really save you time and it isn't worth the risk.

true, i just picked up a 180$ bell from circut city, didnt have a extra 100 for the 8500. Seems ok so far, kinda touchy, says lazer when i pull up to subway...wtf?

anyway ya like i said im not a huge speeder but i do love to accelerate, any chance i get to get the turkey.

Whats even better than the 8500 is the Solo S2. No wires. Just pop in 2 AA batteries and you are good for about 4-5 weeks. It is about $329.99 for most people. My advice is make friends with someone who works for Best Buy, or get a job there. They are hiring for seasonal labor and the seasonal people don't have to wait the usual 30 period for their discount to kick in.
