smoked an MSP post falsh....

I was told that the only difference between the years is just visual. All the hardware is the same.

I love my car after the flash.. I know now that at low RPM my car will go instead of sit there with its thumb up its ass.. Its a lot smoother now. I still need to get hard piping BC i am getting boost leek from the plastic POS piping. Anyway i am taking my car to the track on friday.. Now preflash @ 10 PSI i ran a 14.6 Now that my car is flashed i will run it again @ 10 PSI and see what it does.. I will let you know how i do.

the 2003 and 2003.5 DO have different clutches. I've driven them back to back several times, and there is a noticeable difference with the 2003.5 being a little stiffer, and engages a little differently.

Go from a MP3 to a 2003.5 and it's like a HUGE difference.

I just thought you guys would find this interesting...I have an EBC in my car so I can pretty much boost how high I want, when ever I want. My friend and both have MSP's (mine is yellow, his is orange). So I decided to listen to Joe and not get the flash...Thanks Joe...point is My friend after the flash set his at 10 psi, and I set mine to 12...and I smoked him really bad..so I put mine down to 10 psi to make it fair and I still yanked a car on him!!!! My car never hesitated so I never got the flash... and thank god I didnt cuz my boy says its smoother but slower and it sucks fat balls..... Thank god I didnt get the flash...and a big AMEN to Joe P for telling me not too....next time we race I'm gonna have my wife video tape it so you can see the beating...

easy way to find out if it's the driver, swap cars.

swapped cars.....YELLOW STILL CAME OUT ON TOP. by about the same distance too... maybe its the clutch, the flash, I dont know. Or maybe the03.5 is a little faster? I don't know...cant explain it but all I know is I am not getting the flash if thats going to happen to me....better daily driver or not...I prefer not to get smoked...also like I said mine has never hesitated to begin with. But I am hearing this little crackling noise in the high RPM's under boost any one know what that is?

bring it homie!!!!!!!

j/k cant we all just get along

So boostidazfuk if you say he is running only 14s, what the hell are you running to "smoke" him, I'd say that if you were to smoke him you would have to be pulling 13.5's at least and with just 12psi I don't think so, not even close.

I have an EBC too, but that doesn't make me want to destroy my engine without the right tuning, And trust me my friend I'm currently getting the tuning done, and you with 17psi I would still beat with 15psi. Plus I would have a more efficiant T25.

Talking smack is fun:D

We are both great drivers , weve been building Hondas since '95 but fell in love with these MSP's so we bought them...but if you wan't to say I am a better driver...hey, I'll take it....but realistically I smoked him...and he can drive... I think I'm gonna call him now and tell him we should switch cars, then race..to see if it is a driver issue... but I doubt it..he can drive.. I will let you guys know...I just thought I'd let you guys know to be carefull....cuz my friend is sooooo pissed he got flashed.

there are so many more factors that play into it.. first off both different drivers, secondly ur reaction time.. thirdly what rpm u both shift at etc etc etc... all these factors play into it.. the only true way to see, would be to say take both cars to the track.. one of you and only one. of you run.. the first car, then run the second car until the reaction times are the same and the 60-ft are the same, and even then several other factors play in... there is no real way to see which car is faster, i mean u could always dyno, but its only what 15% car and 85% driver...

here's an example... i also have a 02 mitsubishi lancer oz rally, i was sitting at a stop light and a electric blue civic si pulls up next to me... its apparent by the rev he has intake and exhaust not to mention whatever else he might have... my lancer has intake and exhaust... lancer supposidly 130 hp and 135 tq and a si is what 150 hp and 125 tq... when he pulled up he revved and asked me to roll my window down...so my friend in the passenger seat does... the guy says hey is that a evo... my friend said yep... the guys said the 260 hp evo.. my friend said yep... the awd evo? yep... anyways the guy proceeded to ask if we wanted to race... we both agree'd... at the light i caught first no spinning nothing smoothly shifted into second at this point i was 2 car lengths ahead of him... while he was spinning like a mofo in first and missed second... next light.. i laughed as my friend told him this was a regular us oz rally lancer... and he just got beat by a car that has so much less hp than him.. the point is the fear factor played in causing him to **** up.... all kinds of things play into it...

another example is jeremy aka mp5raycer... was running my msp agian a wrx at the track.. the wrx runs 8.5 - 8.9 consistantly... jeremy gets it in his head... and runs a 11.30 instead of a constistant 9.3 like he had been running previously..

not saying thats what happened to ur friend.. but then agian wanting to be the faster of the two could cause issues maybe he's not shifting were he normally would agianst a different person or car...

no you wouldn't cuz i dont think even with the right tuning on pump gas u can boost more than 14-15 psi.. trust me i know.. and my motor is being replaced...

Jezus, there are so many variables. Tires, clutch, shift speed, launch, etc. Instead of bitching, just go from a roll and find out who's car is faster. 3rd or 4th gear. Why is that so hard to understand?
