Smoke at start up, need mechanic recommendations in SoCal

I'm gonna contact Seafoam and see what they say about plug fouling.

Maybe you could pull the plugs and check for oil in the cylinders like the guy did,.. before and after startup.

Both the valve seal or ring jobs are huge and separate. It's worth the effort to find out for sure. Maybe you can see into the cylinders enough to check for oil. I know they have those cameras that can fit through the hole to see,.. they aren't too much money now.

I can't find that damn thread,.. I should have book marked it.

I found this inspection camera,... It's USB and plugs right into your computer or phone. I had no idea they were so cheap,... I think I might get one.

FOUND IT :

This is the thread that talks about the seized oil rings.

I noticed a pretty big typo I made,... "I kinda think if the oil seals are stuck and gummed up with crap"

I meant to say oil RINGS. Having your oil seals (valve seals) gummed up may actually be a good thing,... the deposits can help seal them and washing it away could cause them to leak into the cylinders.

Freeing up the oil RINGS would be a good thing and allow them to move to seal the cylinder.

I found this too:

And this might be worth checking into:

PCB

I shook the pcv valve and it rattles and doesn't allow air through port b. Before I got the factory pcv valve I had the millennia one from the supercharged engine. That one was working fine as well.

I read through the link about the rings and I think seafoam twice in a 1500 miles to see if anything has improved. Maybe try Restore stuff if that doesn't work. I would think that carbon gunk would be cleaned by the seafoam.

My thoughts on the catch can is if my pcv valve is not broken, then I don't think blow by is my problem.

My guess about the seized rings and seafoam thing is that if the oils drain holes are completely blocked, then the seafoam can't get in there to clean it ???

When I do seafoam, I put it in the oil then run the car for about a hundred miles then drain the oil but I put another 1/3 can in the new oil and leave it. I'll bet I never get stuck oil rings,... I'm keeping it clean.

You never know though,... if you put seafoam in the oil and leave it there it may very well free up the rings with time. Keep an eye on the oil though,... if it looks really black, drain it and start over.

Alright so I did an overnight piston soak with seafoam and added some to my fresh highmileage oil. I looked at my plugs and they seem fine, not carbon fouled or showing signs of oil on the threads. Will post pics soon and report on the oil consumption soon.

Little update,

Mine is doing good it seems, I over filled it slightly due to using the bigger filter for the first time. I have done a second piston soak and it seems to have lessen my smoking on start up. The only problem with my report is I have only 600 miles on this procedure so I can't say for sure if it is working yet.

One a side note, when I looked down my valve cover from the oil fill opening, it was very brown with oil tarnish. This could be the reason or indicator for the piston drain holes being blocked.
