SMIC installed

You should wrap your pipes and the IC will work much better.

Are you referring to wrapping stock pipes as well, or does this theory only really apply to hardpipes? Interested in pics of the smic too, since it sounds like the results were awesome...

you can wrap both. Man i noticed with my hardpipes sometimes they're cool to the touch after a long drive, and sometimes they'll burn you. Even the CAI will get hot sometimes, but others its not. I drive the same most the time. I'm going to wrap mine and save for this IC.

I still cant figure out why "stock boost" on MSPs ranges from 4-8psi(uhm)
Because we have hand built cars... the variation is much greater than machine built cars.

Why would the boost pressure go up? I know it flows better but the wastegate should be releasing pressure at the same PSI. The turbo should be working less to get the same PSI.

I've been thinking the same thing. I honestly don't know why pressure was increased, I'm just reporting my findings. It was 8psi before, now it's like 8.7-8.9psi (just below the 9psi park on the gauge).

The wastegate boost/vac line is not kinked.

Does it hold 9 psi or is it spiking to that? Almost 9 psi without a boost control you won the MSP lotto. Are you worried about fuel cut during the winter. I would think it is going to be a PIA especially if you can't turn it down. Nothing a Joep FCD woulnd't fix though.

with no boost controller or water injection I am running 8 psi with all my mods, 9 with no exhaust is good times (drive) (2thumbs)

My car held 8psi, falling to between 7 and 7.5 at redline, when 100% stock :)

man u been saying pics are coming... where are they...
j/k

would love to see the pics

boost pressure increased because the stock system eats some pressure. its not being created, just freed up. now the intake manifold is seeing almost the same air pressure the turbo outlet releases.
