Smart key Help!

I changed the battery in my smart key and it seems to no longer work! It kind of works when it wants to. Any ideas?

Agreed that was a dumb question lol! and yes i used a brand new battery. Actually given to me by another member of this site who just changed his battery and had an extra.

Another dumb question, but I have seen something this equally simple happen .... is it installed the right way?

Another possible reason ... is it wet out when it wont work? Whenever it rains, the door request button on my car doesnt work.

i havent changed my battery in the key but both my copies have become finicky and choosy, the door buttons always work though, i think i need to take it in to get the signal changed or something

Have the dealer replace your trunk sensor, they go bad on our cars. It fixed my car deciding when it wanted to let me in and when it decided i needed to fish for the key

yea i got my driver side door one replaced.. they said there was corrosion on the device in the door

I have found that when my smart key starts acting up it's because the contact "prongs" to the battery got squished flat (probably from being in my wallet under my fat a$$). Periodically, I have to bend them back into place witha micro flathead screw driver so that they make better contact. This is for both the top prong and the side prong.
