slow boost!!

I dont understand how the dealer made an "adjustment" on your actuator when I was told that the whole turbo had to be replaced whem mine had issues. Im not complaining on getting a new turbo but I would like to know if I could make adjustments or replace the actuator if I have issues at a later date when my warranty is up.

Easy he just got down there and dicked with it. The acutator was fine until the dealer installed all new silicone turbo hoses for me. I asked them to do so because the stock lines were small and cracked. When I got the car back it would run 16PSI without a boost controller. So after a few months of 16PSI WOOHOO! time. I took it back and reluctantly showed them that the boost was way high and the tech diddled around with the acutator. It never ever worked right after that but I did not care too much because for the last 70,000 miles or so it has been stuck almost all the way shut and would give me 15PSI of instaneous, neck snapping boost at 1/3 throttle and low RPM; it was AWESOME! For the longest time I thought my JoeP MBC was bad but alas it was the acutator and it has been wacky since 12k miles or so. I was just enjoying it too much to take it back in and I hate taking all my mods off to get warranty work done.
I am 82k miles now and I will just get another acuator or see I if can get this one to stick alomst shut again :)

Interesting. PLease keep me imformed on how the inststall goes. I have read allot of posts about people talking about trying to replace the actuator but have had no luck getting one. It is definately cheaper than repalcing the turbo and I would like to have the option of doing so in the future in case I have another issue.

Seems like i am in the slow boost club too. Mine will build 5 psi at about 5k. no vac leaks that i can visually see, but will do a more in depth check this weekend. Will check mani bolts and turbo exhaust flange bolts as well. Dont think wastegate is culprit yet, cause it was working fine day before. I also got my ion intake in, might have kinked something. Could be bad boost gauge line too. Its an autometer and has never sat at 20 vacuum.
