Slightly Erratic Idle upon Cold Start

Hi all.

01 Protege LX 2.0 used to rev right up to 2000 rpm on a cold start, then slowly, smoothly, and surely idle down to 750 as the car warmed up.

Recently, however, the idle has been a bit erratic. Going to 2000, then 1000, then 1500, and not very smooth. It's not terribly rough, and doesn't happen every time, but it is a change I noticed.

Should I be looking out for anything?

Warm idle is perfect at 650-750 rpm. Coil packs and wires were changed a few months ago.

You could maybe see if your egr valve needs cleaned. Just a thought. Hope that helps a little.

MAFS might need to be cleaned.
