Skinny Blue

Lol alright now why are you picking on me?? :)

You know when I lost my weight it was amazing how people when they saw me again would be shocked at the change in my looks...I hated having those "chubby" cheeks. What's really frustrating is that I still hate how overweight I am :( I've honestly never looked at my body in a mirror and been happy....like I feel very out of shape(well I feel healthy...and do get lots of exercise...just don't look very nice) specially in the "gut" area....if there was a magic pill I could take for a few grand that would give me some abs...I'd gladly pay.

actually, i hear good things about TRIM SPA and some situps.

"TRIM SPA"? What is that...one of those dieting type pills? I have actually tried one called ThermoLean or something like that. How it works is it uses a "stack" of caffeine, aspirin and ephedrine...in Canada anyhow they have to use the plant form of the ephedrine rather than the chemical form as it's illegal to use that in the drugs sold here(or something along those lines).

I found that it really made me unstable....and I've also read that it's quite dangerous as well...basically it speeds up your metabolism even while sitting(as a matter of fact you shouldn't be doing any form of strenuous activity while on the stuff)...just a heads up for anybody looking into dieting pills....they do have some major downsides so be informed.

As for setups...yeah I guess I'll try those more...I do them just not enuff I guess.

I read an article a few weeks ago about this...getting in shape thing....and it had to do with some actors that really had to change their appearance to do a part....and the trainer they used to get where they needed to go in a HEALTHY way...and not on some crash thing....

like Will Smith to play Ali for that movie...he really packed on some mustle....anyway....for the stomach area...the guy basically stated that ANYONE that eats healthy can have a 6 pack if they wanted...it ONLY takes 300-400 sit ups a DAY!!!!! GEEEEEZ.

How much did you loose and what was your method?

Jay

(I've gone from *gasp* 275lbs to 215lbs, still want to loose atleast 20 more)

I kinda like a guy with a bit of a belly. It's nice to lay my head on when I'm lying in bed with him. Abs that are too muscular are like putiing my head down on a rock. Plus, a guy with a belly tells me he isn't too into his looks and has better things to do than spend his whole life in the gym.

This is not to say I like lazy slobs, either. I like a man who takes care of himself and lives a healthy lifestyle, just not obsessively. I'm really proud of BigBlue for losing all that weight. It's not an easy thing to do. I went from 138 to 111, but that took months to do it properly.

Actually, this is an out-and-out lie. There is only a small percentage of humans, less than 10% that are actually genetically capable of having 6-pack abs.

I'm gonna have to dig up my source for that... If you don't believe me you'll have to wait until I find it.

I lost about 30 lbs...went from around 195 down to 165.....but it was in a very short amount of time and I'll be the first to say it was not the healthy way to do it at all. How I did it was basically I ate only once or twice a week, played this aerobic dancing game obsessively and popped diet pills like they were going out of style....if I ever hear of anybody doing this....I'd smack them for being so dumb.

I've maintained my weight tho by continuing the exercise and just eating more sensibly. Besides a lot of different aerobic activities, I don't go crazy...definitely not going to be doing any after ads for bodybuilding commercials. :)

I bet it's gotta be more than 10% of people who are genetically able to. I mean if I were a millionaire and had a trainer who basically said what I could and couldn't eat and then made me work out and do the tons of situps, I'm sure I could get the abs I want(even if they don't make a good pillow)...and I'm sure a lot of other people could too...it's a lot to do with motivation I'd say.

Hey big blue that dancing game your talking about is it called dance dance revolution (DDR)???????????????????????????

Big Blue should keep his screen name because it is in refernce to his job....Or so I thought...

Congrats on your success and you are right that it wasn't the proper way to do it. I know many people who have lost weight suddenly by not eating. The end results were loose unattractive skin, and eventual weight gain. It's good that you say you have kept it off. :)

The thing about starving yourself is that, to your body, it is just that. Once a person who has been on a crash diet gets off it, their body tells them to start eating again. It tries to build up it's reserves, thinking(yes your body thinks to itself) that if this famishing has happened that it will likely happen again. The key is to lessen your calorie intake and exercise. I have lost 35 lbs and am still going. It's great. I have just started running again and feel really good when hott guys stare me down in my PR5! :)

anyhoo...just remember..."You can doooo iiiiiit!!!" taken from The Waterboy

First off, congratulations for loosing all that weight!
I have no idea about a majic pill for abs, but I can tell you what worked for me. I decided 3 years ago when I was still in College to try and get a "six-pack" type stomach, I was pretty damn skinny at 6'4'', and 170lbs so I figured it would be easy and wouldn't take very long. I was wrong. lol. The trainer at school showed me quite a few different exercises including regular crunches, side crunches, extended leg raise (lie on your back with your legs straight out for 30 secs. at a time), and finally crunches on top of an exercise ball. For the first 3 months I saw very few visual results from doing all listed except for the crunches on the exercise ball, I was getting a lot stronger, but no definition really.
I tried the crunches on the exercise ball with a 15lb stack weight on my chest, and with only 25 reps in 2 sets per day... It took less than 2 months to get the definition I wanted. I guess this probably won't help telling you that it took me five months of working out to get a "six-pack", but I didn't bust my ass or anything, I am too lazy for that. lol.

Oh well... I know body type has a lot to do with it, but if you already lost a lot of weight, I figured you could do something like this as well. I guess I am opposite of most people when it comes to working out, since I want to gain weight (6'4", at 180lbs now) but it all pretty much amounts to a lot of work either way.

I don't really agree. I live in the "fattest" state statistically in the United States, and I know a bunch of people that I used to work out with that type of definition, myself included. It isn't that hard, just a different variety of exercise, and a lot of motivation! (The hard part for me, lol)

Your genes are a big factor whether or not you can get really skinny. Many people are obese because of these genes. You can control your weight but really can not do anything about your frame. Some people are born to be fat, that's the hard truth and I was one of them. I have to try extra, extra hard to keep in shape.

all u people LOOSIN weught...i am tryin to gain ...i am 5'7 and i weigh 140.....i hav ebeen at 140 for at least 2 yrs now....i cant gainany weight no matter what i do...i cant stand it...i have taken all the weight gainers and creatine..and nuttin....i hate it but now i aint even in the gym...just sick and tired of workin out and not gianing s***....cant stand it...i just wish i could be 160....sheeeet...

Hey, it's ok to be your size, it's all in the genes.

But try some amino acids, which are the subunits of protein. The best way is through food.

The genes argument is bulls***. If you eat to much fat you get fat, DONE! Lok at native americans there is virtualy know obesity in their liniage but yet many of them get huge on the tipical American diet of crap much faster then do most people of european an other decents.
