I just got the Sirius antenna and tuner installed in my car over the weekend. The antenna is a bit ugly and is supposed to be mounted on the roof, but the installer I worked with was agreeable to try it mounted on the back deck.

We used the spot on top of the plastic cover that goes where the 3rd brakelight would go on a Protege without a spoiler. The installation was pretty clean and the reception seems to be very good.

It does cut out if you stop under an overpass or if you go through a very long tunnel, etc.

The service is excellent and (for me) the best part is no commercials at all.

I have the Z828 - so now the SRC button cycles like this: All off - Sirius - tuner - cd - all off. Then you can cycle the display to show the station number, channel name, or artist/song. Very nice.

How much was the setup? What kind of music can you listen to?
Does the service cost?

The antenna was $70 and the tuner was $165. You can listen to just about any kind of music you can think of, but I'm not sure if the service is available in Canada. I guess it's like DSS satellite TV - so I don't know if the satellites will actually broadcast into Canada or not.

kinda gay if you ask me, but thats just me becuase i usually have 300+ cds in my car ready to listen too... 90% CDR's

I have a lot of cd's too, but I like the mystery of the radio - never know what you might hear!!

Even my MP3 cd's (with 150 - 200 songs) get repetitive after a while. I start skipping the songs I don't really want to hear right then and then there are only 15 or 20 I actually want to hear.

The Sirius keeps it fresh - and if there are songs I really like - I guess I can burn them onto cd's later.

Also - I am in the car a lot, so this is nice for me.
